Chapter 1521
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1521:
? ? ? ? ?
Nicole stood there silently, her mouth hanging open in disbelief. These people were monstrously cruel, perpetuating a horrifying myth. The idea that so many people were being exploited to preserve their youth was sickening.
Roscoe quickly added, âThese people are not native to Ambrosia. Their ancestors came from another country and secluded themselves in our mountains to carry out these heinous acts. âThey avoid interaction with outsiders, and many witches here are relatives, passing on their depraved rituals from one generation to the next.â
The more Nicole heard, the more absurd it seemed. Roscoe insisted, âYou have to go now. âYou canât face them alone.â
âNo, weâre leaving together,â Nicole declared firmly. Roscoe had never left her side, and she wasn't about to leave him behind.
âI need to stop them once and for all,â Roscoe finally revealed his true plan.
âYou're not going to do this alone, Roscoe. We're going to get out of here and get reinforcements. Then weâre going to go back in to confront them.â Nicole's eyes were shining with determination as she laid out her plan.
âThere's not enough time!â Roscoe scratched his head, looking worried.
âIt's not that easy. Even if we run out now, we'll run into the villagers waiting for us halfway up the mountain. It's a three-day journey to safety. By the time we return with reinforcements, a whole week will have passed and those witches will have vanished.â By that time, the captives would probably have been silenced.
This presented a rare opportunity. The chief's body-swapping ceremony had summoned all the witches back to the valley, creating an ideal time to wipe them out completely.
âBut the responsibility for removing them should not fall solely on you,â Nicole said. âHow are you feeling? And what about your memory loss and your sudden conformity?â she fired off her questions.
Roscoe fell silent, realizing the impossibility of explaining everything in such a brief exchange. âNicole, you must leave now. Immediately,â he stated firmly.
âNo, we're going together,â Nicole insisted, her determination overwhelming her. She couldn't support a mission she considered suicidal for someone she cared deeply about.
"Nicole, I'm staying." Roscoe's voice was firm, but tinged with a hint of helplessness. He knew that only one of them could get out of here.
Nicole's voice softened into a plea. âRoscoe, please listen to me. We need help. You can't handle this alone. There are too many of us, and they have control over the snakes and those parasitesâ¦â
Just thinking about it sent shivers down Nicole's spine. It was like signing a death warrant. How could she bear the thought of Roscoe facing this alone? No matter what, she couldn't let someone she cared about sacrificing himself.
