Chapter 1512
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1512:
? ? ? ? ?
Although the pill's true purpose remained a mystery, it seemed harmless for the moment. Nicole assumed it was probably meant to restore her health, as the witch had stated.
But Nicole couldn't help but wonder about the witch's ulterior motives. Once her body was fully restored, what did the witch plan to do?
Echoes of the witch's earlier words haunted Nicole. The witch had spoken of bringing back a man, who made Nicole suspect that she was referring to Roscoe. This disturbing thought weighed on Nicole's mind, overshadowing her other concerns and keeping her on her toes throughout the day.
At dawn the next day, the red-robed witch returned to find Nicole already awake, looking visibly healthy. The pill had indeed been a powerful elixir, capable of revitalizing even those who were close to death. Nicole's cheeks were now rosy with a rosy vigor, testament to the pill's efficacy.
With great ease, the witch in red extracted another pill, quickly opened Nicole's mouth, and placed it inside. She watched her closely to make sure Nicole swallowed it before preparing to leave. However, Nicole was quick to call out to her. âWho are you? What have you given me?â
The red-robed witch stopped in her tracks, turned to Nicole, and smiled a chilling smile. âHaven't you investigated me, Miss Curiosity? How come your investigations havenât uncovered who I really am?â
It was evident that the red-clad witch knew about Nicole's undercover investigations.
Realizing that denying it or tricking her would be futile, Nicole opted for a direct approach. âI know you're a witch, but I don't understand your intentions.â
âWe use our power to maintain the balance of the universe, a concept far beyond the reach of ordinary beings such as ourselves.â The red-robed witch's voice dripped with disdain, as if she were some lofty entity and Nicole a mere, insignificant bug.
âAnd yet you are not in the service of the Watts family? Doesnât that mean you clean up our worldly messes?â Nicole snapped.
A scornful laugh escaped the red-clad witch's lips. âWhat are the Watts to me that I should bless to their will? âMy involvement with them was nothing more than a facade, a strategy to advance my own goals.â
The witch had cleverly presented herself as vulnerable in order to gain the protection of the Watts, using it as a cover to search the city for those her tribe was looking for, eventually delivering them to her clan for dark purposes.
The Watts needed his services, creating a symbiotic relationship that benefited both parties. Why not take part in this mutually advantageous deception?
âAnd what exactly did you give me?â Nicole asked, posing her third question.
