Once inside, Nicole found the room empty. Her heart raced, and suddenly someone from behind pressed a handkerchief over her mouth and nose. She barely had time to react before she lost consciousness.
The witch approached the unconscious Nicole, crouching down to scrutinize her face as if evaluating a product. After a moment, she turned to a muscular man standing next to her and said, âThat's her.â
The witch stood up and clapped her hands. âVery well, take it.â
The man acknowledged receipt, quickly stuffed Nicole into a burlap sack and threw her into a car as if she weighed nothing. He closed the door shut and drove away.
The witch told another man standing next to Nicole's car: "Take this car to a remote area and burn it."
The man nodded and drove Nicole's car away. Just as the witch was about to follow the car that took Nicole away, she received an unexpected call. After a brief conversation, she changed her plans.
That same evening Jarrod returned to the villa. Upon entering, he asked the housekeeper: "Has my wife eaten?"
The housekeeper looked puzzled. âSir, you hadn't noticed? âHe mentioned that he was visiting his mother.â
âVisiting his mother?â Jarrod frowned.
"Yes, that's what he said. He hasn't come back yet," the housekeeper explained.
Jarrod looked at the time. It was already eight thirty in the evening. The sanatorium was not closed and Nicole should have returned by now.
Worried, Jarrod went to check on Austin before rushing off to the sanatorium. Upon arrival, he headed straight to Nicole's mother's room, who was sleeping soundly.
A nurse standing nearby quickly stood up and greeted him: "Mr. Schultz."
Without delay, Jarrod asked, âWhen did Nicole leave?â
âWhat?â The nurse looked surprised. âHe hasn't come today.â
âHe hasn't come?â Jarrod echoed his words.
"That's right. I've been here all day and I haven't seen her," the nurse confirmed.
Jarrod turned and walked out, dialing as he headed to his car. âAlec, find out where Nicoleâs car is,â he ordered.
Recognizing Jarrod's seriousness, Alec replied without prompting, "On it."
Jarrod added: âCheck the surveillance and find the location of the car immediately.â
