Chapter 1492:

The employees fell silent, refraining from speaking out of caution. Given the Schultz Group's superior profits within the industry, securing a creditable position in this economic climate was a formidable challenge.
Under normal circumstances, Alec would have dealt with people who harbored hidden agendas, but his current time constraints demanded his full attention on the Hampton family matters.
Alec entered Jarrod's office to find him absorbed in his work, his expression serious and concentrated.
"Sir, Wayne has been dispatched, but his persistence remains formidable. Furthermore, the circulating rumors are coming from the Hampton family," Alec reported.
âOkay,â Jarrod replied without looking away from the computer screen.
Alec stood there thoughtfully, undecided whether to voice his thoughts or remain silent.
Unable to suppress his curiosity any longer, Alec ventured, âShould we just let the rumors spread?â
âSo youâve come up with a superior strategy?â Jarrod raised an eyebrow.
âThey are not spreading truthful information! This is tarnishing our companyâs reputation, and it is eroding the trust of our employeesâ¦â Alec lamented.
âThis represents an opportunity,â Jarrod said calmly.
Puzzled, Alec asked, âWhat do you mean?â
Jarrod's gaze shifted from the monitor as his slender fingers rhythmically tapped on the desk. âWe can use this moment to cleanse our internal ranks, eliminating any ties to the Hampton family.â
Alec suddenly understood. Over time, the Schultz and Hampton families had collaborated on numerous projects, raising the possibility that certain employees had accepted clandestine bribes from the Hampton family or colluded with them.
This presented the ideal opportunity to remove all employees connected to the Hampton family. This was an important task.
âAnd what is the plan regarding the Hampton family?â Alec asked.
âThey have wasted their opportunity by failing to seize it.â Jarrodâs expression was cold and unyielding. âSince that is the case, I will deal with our internal affairs first. After that, there will be no need to take any other considerations into account.â
âUnderstood, sir. Youâre in charge,â Alec said, his confidence bolstered. Jarrod's words calmed his worries. Alec held Jarrod in high regard. After all, in all the years he'd been following Jarrod, he'd never seen a misstep. Even though emotional matters weren't Jarrod's strong suit, he always made shrewd business decisions.
âOh, sir, thereâs one more thingâ¦â Alec hesitated, reluctant to leave.
âWhat is it?â Jarrod inquired.
