Vicki's grimace deepened. “Stop acting, Nicole. I remind you that what's mine will remain mine. You could marry Jarrod, but what does it matter? I'm only kind enough to lend him to you for now. Since you dare to claim what belongs to me, I assure you that you will regret it.”

Vicki's expression was full of malice and a thirst for revenge.

Despite this, Nicole maintained her composure. “I can't wait to see him.” Her answer was sincere, but Vicki was skeptical.

Nicole had predicted that Vicki would evade any immediate consequences and that direct evidence against her would be elusive. Vicki was too shrewd to be caught red-handed.

Proving her involvement was a daunting task. Even with a confession from the nanny, it was unlikely that the funds could be traced back to Vicki directly. The Hamptons would simply use someone else as a scapegoat.

Leaning down, Nicole whispered provocatively to Vicki, “Guess how many laps Jarrod and I did last night?”

Vicki's face turned red with anger. Her fury almost drove her to violence. “Nicole, don’t you have any dignity? How can you be so disgusted?”

Nicole took the insults calmly and replied: "We're newlyweds, Vicki. What we do is our right, and he adores me. Why shouldn't we enjoy it?"

Continuing her mockery, Nicole added: “And just so you know, he really likes it. He's very clever. “I had a great time.”

"You must have attracted him! Why else would he choose you? He's not into that romantic stuff," Vicki replied hysterically.

Seeing Vicki's jealous, contorted expression, Nicole feigned shock. "Miss Hampton, you've been with Jarrod for years. He never..."

Nicole feigned surprise. “Has he really never been intimate with you?”

Vicki's face turned ashen as she realized she had inadvertently revealed too much in the heat of the argument.

She had tried every way to get closer to Jarrod, but each attempt left her colder as he remained distant and aloof. Any effort to deepen their relationship was met with immediate withdrawal.
