Chapter 1448

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1448:

? ? ? ? ?

Looking at Jarrod, Nicole's voice was determined. "I will never forgive the person responsible for this."

Jarrod understood his intention. “Don't worry. I’ll stay out of it.”

“I hope you mean it,” Nicole replied, wary of stirring up conflict with him at such a critical time. Her situation was desperate, compounded by her uncertainty about Roscoe's condition. Given Miguel's notorious cruelty, the outlook was bleak. It seemed that Jarrod was the only hope of weathering this crisis.

Jarrod raised an eyebrow, a playful smile on his face. “What are you thinking? Isn’t it my son who’s in danger?”

“It's good that you acknowledge that,” Nicole replied. Reassured by Jarrod's promise not to get involved, Nicole felt a weight lifted from her shoulders. She was confident that justice would come to Vicki.

The hospital staff advised them to leave for the moment, as there was nothing more they could do. The blood purification would not begin today; they had to cleanse the toxins first. Furthermore, there were specialized personnel to care for Kamilah.

Realizing that her presence at the hospital was useless, Nicole decided to return home to comfort Austin, who was anxious about Kamilah. Once back at the villa, Nicole found Austin waiting, visibly distressed and sleepless.

Nicole reassured him: “Don't worry, Austin. Kamilah will recover. Let’s pray for her recovery and that fortune favors the kind-hearted.”

Austin agreed, then hesitated. “What's wrong?” Nicole asked.

“Mom, I’m not a kind person,” Austin confessed quietly.

“Why do you think that?” Nicole asked sweetly.

“I wanted to see you, so I pretended to obey and tricked that bad woman,” Austin said. “I lied to her. “It was a bad thing.”

Nicole could see Austin was still struggling with guilt. She held his shoulders and said, “Austin, protecting you isn't wrong. “Sometimes you need to make temporary compromises for your safety.”

Austin seemed puzzled. “But Roscoe said we shouldn't become bad just because others are bad. An evil could never be turned into a good, no matter what the intention. “You can’t justify actions just because of good intentions.”

This was a lesson from Roscoe. Unfortunately, Austin had only grasped the superficial meaning, without understanding the broader implications.

Nicole clarified: “Roscoe’s words were about maintaining our integrity. Just because circumstances force us to act doesn't mean we become bad. In a crisis, it's essential to protect yourself first. You did more than that; you also gave Kamilah a chance.

The photos you took immediately showed the experts the type of poison they were dealing with, obviating the need for initial tests. This sped up his treatment and improved his chances of recovery. You've done an extraordinary job, Austin. Do you realize how crucial your actions were?
