Stunned by this unexpected turn of events, Vicki stammered, âHow⦠how did you manage to get in?â
Turning to Vicki, Nicole calmly replied, âTimes have changed, Miss Hampton.â
âWhat⦠what do you mean?â Confused by Nicole's cryptic response, Vicki's mind raced with a host of disturbing possibilities, but she pushed them aside.
How could this be happening? He prided himself on his meticulous cover-ups and impeccable facade.
âListen, Vicki.â Nicole's voice cut through the tension like a sharp blade.
"If they hurt Austin or his babysitter, you'll wish you never crossed paths with me."
Watching Nicole's resolve demeanor, Vicki couldn't help but feel a pang of unease.
Vicki's malice knew no bounds. She possessed a determination bordering on ferocity for her own goals.
Nicole understood all too well that individuals like Vicki would stop at nothing to achieve their goals, even if it meant resorting to acts of unspeakable cruelty.
Vicki's shock turned to disbelief, wondering what Nicole was up to. Nicole's nerve being so cocky in front of Jarrod's mansion, the home of her future husband, baffled her.
Vicki's contemplation for Nicole increased. "Who do you think you are to make such claims? You don't even know how to take care of yourself."
Vicki's derisive snort punctuated the air. âStop bragging. Arenât you afraid of drowning in your own words?â
Nicole's enigmatic response only increased Vicki's bewilderment.
"We'll see," he commented cryptically.
âWhat are you trying to say?â Vicki asked, increasingly confused.
Nicole's words were shrouded in mystery, leaving Vicki completely perplexed.
Nicoleâs smile widened, exuding quiet confidence. âVicki, mark my words. Youâre going to regret this.â
âRegret?â Vicki scoffed, her tone laced with contempt. âI think you're the one who's going to regret it. Youâre losing the chance to see your son.â
Deciding that it was useless to continue arguing at the door, Vicki quickly pressed the panic button on the door, calling the security guards.
âWhere are the security guards? Hurry up and get this woman out of the premises,â he ordered, his arms crossed in anticipation of the drama that was unfolding.
The security guards were quick to arrive, but their attitude towards Nicole was very different.
âMiss Lawrence, how can we help you?â they asked respectfully.
Word had spread among the villa staff that Nicole was to be the new lady of the house, and she was treated with deference befitting her new role.
Vicki had been allowed to visit the villa to see Austin before, but staying overnight was never an option. Even on rainy days, Jarrod would insist on Vicki leaving, ordering the driver to escort her back.
Vicki's frustration simmered as she faced the unfamiliar security guards. They had addressed Nicole with all due respect, leaving her wondering if they had made a mistake for her.
âHey, I'm here. Are you blind or what?â Vicki snapped, her displeasure palpable.
She felt that the guards were incompetent, that they hadn't even fixed the broken access control and that they had mistaken Nicole for her.
With this thought, Vicki reflected on the Schultz family's inexplicable hiring decision, and couldn't help but feel a surge of indignation.
Why did the Schultz family employ such incompetent individuals?
