Chapter 1409
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1409:
? ? ? ? ?
Jarrod was not without desire, but he generally chose to keep it in check. Overt advances from women rarely interested him. Often, they even repelled him.
Publicly, Jarrod only acknowledged Vicki, but their relationship had not progressed beyond platonic interactions.
Vicki had made advances, but Jarrod had maintained his boundaries, making clear his disinterest in deepening their physical relationship.
If they were to marry, Jarrod expected Vicki to adopt a celibate life. She had already agreed not to have children. To impose more on her would be unfair.
So Jarrod had Alec subtly introduces the idea of ââa vasectomy as a litmus test for Vicki. If she agreed, everything would go ahead. If not, he would simplify his decisions.
Despite the rumors, Jarrod knew that his lack of interest was not due to work stress, but something more personal. His desires only arose in solitude, always fixed on one woman in particular, Nicole.
Nicole's recent kiss with Jarrod had unexpectedly awakened his dormant longings. Annoyed with himself, he turned on the cold water, hoping to quell the heat inside.
Feeling somewhat sober after his cold shower, Jarrod put on a silk robe. He let his hair get damp and left the room. He met the housekeeper in the hallway, carrying a hairdryer probably intended for Nicole.
Jarrod held out his hand, his voice low and firm. âGive it to me.â
In the room, Nicole was lying on the bed.
Her damp hair, still wet from her bath, framed her face. She was wearing a silk nightgown that the housekeeper had helped her into. The neckline was slightly loose, threatening to reveal more with any slight movement.
Jarrod came over with a hairdryer in his hand and began to gently dry her hair.
His movements were practiced and deft. I have done this before. A few years ago, I had dried Nicole's hair when she was more submissive, almost like a content kitten in bed.
The first time Jarrod dried a woman's hair was with Nicole, and he hadn't done it with anyone else since.
Now, as he repeated the gesture, his feelings had changed. Their relationship was beyond repair.
The warm air blew gently against her scalp. Nicole felt the heat and felt a slight tingle, but she didn't wake up.
Jarrod's bed was spacious, 9 feet wide.
After a moment's hesitation, Jarrod climbed into bed and pulled the sheets over himself.
The mattress sank under its weight.
Jarrod had no intentions beyond sharing a bed, something he hadn't done with Nicole in a long time. On a whim, I wanted to experience it again tonight.
The blanket carried Nicole's faint, seductive scent.
Jarrod closed his eyes and inhaled deeply of the unfamiliar fragrance, savoring it. He thought Nicole's long-lost scent should have soothed him to sleep. Instead, it sharpened his mind, awakening something primal within him.
Struggling to maintain control, Jarrod fought the impulses that rose in his consciousness. He did everything he could to control himself.
But his body reacted before his mind, driven by the proximity of her intoxicating presence. The pale skin, soft breathing, and red marks fueled his imagination in a way he wished he could suppress.
