Chapter 1402

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1402:

Jemma then turned to Nicole and seemingly scolded the latter, her voice loud enough for Jarrod to hear: “Cherry, you've really upset me. I can't pay your medical bills, but don't worry. I know plenty of cute guys willing to fix your problem without it costing you a fortune. “You won’t need the hospital.”

As Jemma spoke, she led Nicole toward the elevator.

Alec was speechless at Jemma's words. What did Jemma mean by those words? Jarrod had just decided to distance himself from Nicole, and Jemma's comments seemed like an attempt to influence Jarrod's decision.

Alec suspected that Jemma and Nicole shared a more complex relationship than it seemed.

Worried that Jarrod might be unintentionally attracted to Nicole again with Jemma's help, Alec decided to intervene.

Seeing Jarrod standing rooted to the spot, his eyes fixed on the elevator Nicole was being taken to, Alec said quickly, "Mr. Schultz, let's go this way. The blood there might get on your shoes."

Alec tried to guide Jarrod in the opposite direction, no longer caring about Lowe lying on the ground.

He decided to let Lowe's assistant deal with the drunk Lowe, prioritizing Jarrod's immediate circumstances above all else.

The air was charged with tension, making a quick exit from the chaotic scene necessary.

Unexpectedly, when Alec reached out to push Jarrod away, he shook it off and moved forward resolutely.

As the elevator doors were about to close, Jemma exhaled softly. Could Jarrod really be indifferent and just walk away?

The next second, a big hand forcefully prevented the elevator door from closing.

At first, Jemma mistook the large hand blocking the elevator door for the obnoxious Alec. But when she recognized the wrist adorned with a million-dollar watch, her heart filled with relief.

He knew it. Jarrod couldn't resist Nicole's charm. That unexpected kiss had apparently rekindled the warmth in Jarrod's once cold heart.

Jemma turned to Jarrod with a smile. “Mr. Schultz, are you coming down?”

Jarrod remained silent, his expression stoic, but Jemma didn't flinch. “Could you wait a moment? “We’re actually going up, just a quick stop on the second floor.”

Jarrod's face was impassive as he looked at Nicole in Jemma's arms.

"Shall we go up?"

Ignoring his stern look, Jemma replied cheerfully, “Yes, the male escort lounge is upstairs. That’s where we need to be.”

The mention of the male escort room caused Jarrod's expression to turn icy.

However, Jemma held Nicole firmly, and her grip tightened as she noticed Nicole's weak resistance. “Don't get upset, Cherry. It's not time yet. You can choose later… Be good. I’ll find you a suitable one soon…”

As Jemma reached for the elevator's closing button, a foot blocked the door.

Alec spoke with icy disdain. “Who do you think you are to keep Mr. Schultz waiting? “You’re not worth your time.” I have sneered. “Get out and let us go first.”

Jemma's once bright face now clouded over. Having been in the club for many years, she might not be esteemed by the rich, but being known as the manager at the club granted her a certain level of respect. She knew many influential figures who generally treated her with courtesy. Alec, who had risen from humble beginnings similar to hers, had no right to belittle her in such a manner.

If the reprimand had come from Jarrod, Jemma might have accepted it grudgingly. But Alec's scorn was more than she could bear.
