Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1400:

Jarrod's tone was cold and indifferent as he asked, "Where are you?"
âIâmâ¦â Vicki hesitated and then said, âIâm home.â
âYou haven't been out tonight?â Jarrod asked.
âUh⦠No⦠Well, I went out briefly, but I didn't feel like it, so I came back.â
âWhere did you go tonight?â Jarrod asked in front of everyone.
Vicki paused, uncertainty flickering across her face as Jarrod's unexpected interest in her activities tonight caught her off guard.
Normally, Jarrod was indifferent to her comings and goings, and his questions never went beyond casual pleasantries. But today was different. A fleeting thought crossed her mind.
âIâ¦â Vicki hesitated, then ventured, âI went to the Kingbel Club with Doreen.â
She cut herself off there, her understanding of Jarrod's temperament guiding her silence. He was a man of few questions, content with candor over detail. In keeping with Vicki's expectations, Jarrod refrained from further probing after her brief revelation.
Vicki, curious, pressed him gently: âJarrod, why the sudden interest?â
âIt's nothing,â Jarrod replied, his voice casual as he reached into his pocket, the fabric rustling softly. âTry to get to sleep early tonight.â
Their conversation stopped there, every unspoken word hanging in the air.
Respecting her wish, Vicki replied, âOkay, you rest well, too.â
The phone clicked as the call ended. Alec immediately turned to Jarrod with urgency in his tone. âSir, what should we do about Mr. Hampton?â
The dilemma of dealing with the disheveled Lowe, Jarrod's future brother-in-law, lying naked and vulnerable on the cold floor, was pressing.
Jarrod stared at Lowe's disheveled figure on the ground, his voice deep and authoritative as he issued the order: "Get him in the car and take him back to the Hampton family."
âUnderstood,â Alec replied, his thoughts aligned with Jarrodâs directive. Despite their frayed ties, they couldn't afford to make Vicki feel embarrassed or become the subject of gossip.
Alec lifted Lowe up and started to carry him outside, but Lowe was uncooperative, his body clean and heavy as a sack of flour. The events of the night had exhausted Lowe even further.
Reaching the door, Alec looked up, intending to ask Jemma for help, but saw that she had already left to accompany Nicole.
Jemma was busy tending to Nicole, who seemed to be ignored by everyone else.
As the bar's manager, it was Jemma's job to oversee Nicole's situation without thinking too much about the implications.
Jemma supported Nicole to the door. Nicole's face was flushed and her hair disheveled, but she still had an inexplicable charm.
As he passed, Jarrod's gaze stopped on Nicole, his brow furrowed and his thoughts unreadable.
Without warning, Nicole reached out, grabbed Jarrod by the neck, and kissed him fervently on the lips. Her kiss was intense, searing, with a heat that lingered on his skin.
