Chapter 1398

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1398:

? ? ? ? ?

Jemma hurried over and politely opened the car door for Jarrod. “Mr. Schultz, you came so fast…”

A pair of polished leather shoes hit the ground, and a tall, handsome man walked out quickly, his eyes not even looking at Jemma.

He walked in a straight line.

Jemma got no response, but remained calm and unfazed. Jarrod was here anyway, and that was all that mattered.

But Alec, who was following behind, gave Jemma a knowing look and said, "Jemma, I didn't know you cared so much about your staff. Is Nicole the special one?"

The question was a trap, and Jemma's face tightened. She replied coldly, "Alec, don't be ridiculous. I'm only looking out for Mr. Schultz's family. Members of high society can't risk scandal."

And she added quietly, "With all the inspections we've had lately, if it were anyone else, I'd handle it. But Miss Doreen Schultz and Miss Vicki Hampton are Mr. Schultz's family, so I need their opinion, don't "t I?"

Jemma's explanation was sound, but Alec didn't buy it. He'd been in the business and entertainment world long enough to know better.

These nightclub managers only cared about money. Money could buy anything, and they wouldn't stick their necks out for a waitress without a good reason. Plus, they wouldn't risk bothering VIPs for a waitress.

Alec figured Jemma and Nicole were up to something. The fact that Nicole had worked here for so long without any problems said it all.

After all, this place was a playground for the rich. Nicole hadn't survived here by luck. Jemma must have chosen her clients carefully.

Some bosses came here just to talk business and didn't mess with the waitresses. But sometimes they would assign a girl to satisfy a customer's needs.

Alec taunted Jemma, “Jemma, I don't care what you're up to. Just be careful. If you go too far, you could hurt yourself. And then…”

He paused and whispered in her ear, "You might not get up again."

Jemma froze and broke out in a cold sweat. Alec's hands were stained with blood. She could feel it, even through his suit.

That kind of danger came from deep within, and Alec could go from laughing at you to snapping your neck in a heartbeat. It was scary.

Jemma smiled playfully and said, “Alec, you're always joking around. I'm known for being honest and simple. I wouldn't dare have sneaky plans. Besides, I'm alone. Who would I be greedy for? I don’t need to worry about food or clothes, you know?”

Jemma's words were well chosen. First, she was saying that she had no one to support her and that she wouldn't plan much. Second, she was saying that she was alone and had nothing to lose, so she wasn't scared of Alec's threats.

It was up to the listener to take it as they saw fit.

Alec smiled and said, “You better mean it. Otherwise.”

He put on a dark, gloomy face and announced, "I can take out any dirty laundry I can."

With that, Alec quickly caught up with Jarrod from ahead.

Jemma stomped her foot angrily and muttered, "You moron, are you threatening to dig up my dirty laundry? You'll get what you deserve."

By this time Jarrod had rushed into the chamber, kicked open the door and saw a complete mess.
