Chapter 1390
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1390:
? ? ? ? ?
Just then, Vicki hit Nicole in the head with a wine bottle.
Blood bloomed on Nicole's face like a large flower, giving her a creepy charm.
Vicki slid the bottle down Nicole's cheek, occasionally poking her with the neck of the bottle. The pain was unbearable, and Nicole knew her face was badly damaged. She had been enduring the torment for so long that she lacked the strength to fight back. Finally, she collapsed to the floor.
Vickiâs smugness was evident as she taunted, âNicole, do you want me to pay the price? With what? You have no power or influence. Your parents are gone. What can you use against me? Sure, you have money, but is it more than the Hampton and Schultz families possess? You talk of revenge, but with what resources? Iâm very curious.â
âDo you really want to know?â Nicole asked through gritted teeth.
âI don't care,â Vicki sneered disdainfully. âIn my eyes, you're nothing more than an ant. I can crush you at will. You can't do anything to me. Youâre not even worthy.â
Vicki smiled with satisfaction and continued, âWhen I marry Jarrod, do you think I will forgive you or your son? I will make sure that the Lawrence family is reunited on my terms. What do you think?â
âVicki, you will definitely regret this!â Nicole burst out, her eyes boiling with anger. She was lying in a pool of blood and alcohol, her eyes burning with determination.
âYou think I don't know who your pill is? Is it Jarrod?â Nicole asked, smirking.
Vicki's expression faltered. She hadn't expected Nicole to mention Jarrod. In fact, Jarrod was her rock and the man she loved deeply.
However, her love for him had been marred by his refusal to allow her to be a mother, insisting instead that she raise another woman's child. She couldn't accept it. Why did it have to be her?
By this time, Vicki had agreed to Jarrod's condition of not having children with her as a temporary commitment. Without that agreement, she would never have become his fiancée.
Jarrod was adamant about not having any more children than Austin. Vicki had thought she could change her mind after the wedding. If she was careful, she believed she could hide a pregnancy until it was too late for Jarrod to do anything about it. But she never got the chance.
Now it seemed that Jarrod didn't want to have children, except maybe with Nicole.
Despite knowing this, Vicki felt compelled to keep up her facade and act like everything was fine. She couldn't just let Jarrod go.
âNicole, you're too late. Jarrod has already moved on from you. Do you think he'll still love you after you tried to cause a scene at another man's wedding? Can you really expect him to be that shameless?â
Vicki challenged.
Vicki's confidence was unwavering as she added, "You are nothing but Ardlens' disgrace. Jarrod will want nothing to do with you again."
Nicole felt miserable, but she gathered her strength to sit up. She leaned against the wall and looked at Vicki with a confident smile.
âIt seems like you are afraid. In fact, you are not just afraid. You know the truth of my words. âYou are afraid that I will shatter all your expectations,â Nicole said, amused.
Nicoler's calm, firm tone shook Vicki's confidence, her heart sinking with every word. It couldn't be. It was impossible.
Vicki assured herself over and over again that Nicole was just trying to intimidate her. There was no way Jarrod would love a woman who had feelings for someone else. His pride was too great to tolerate such a slight. It was totally impossible.
âYou're trying to trick me,â Vicki laughed as she managed to regain her composure. âWhat can you accomplish on your own?â
Nicole's laughter mirrored Vicki's as she replied, "If it is a trick, you know the answer very well. You must know very well whether I have the means to act on it."
