Chapter 1387
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1387:

Doreen had heard rumors that Jarrod had traveled to the northern territories to rescue Nicole, thus provoking the anger of the northerners.
The North was a dangerous kingdom where its inhabitants lived by the sword, considering well-off individuals like themselves as walking treasures.
Jarrod's defiance of the Northerners for Nicole's sake was a precarious move. Doreen couldn't shake the worry that it might have repercussions down the road. Northerners were said to be ruthless, and they were unlikely to let such an affront go.
Doreen had originally intended to seek revenge on Nicole after the wedding, but when Jarrod's men took Nicole away, Doreen refrained from acting rashly.
Although she had a fearless lover and harbored no misgivings toward her parents or anyone else, she couldn't shake her fear of Jarrod.
When Jarrod got angry, he was truly terrifying, regardless of blood relations or family affection.
Vicki later asked Doreen out, saying that Jarrod was indifferent to Nicole because of Nicole's actions at the wedding.
Hearing this, Doreen immediately rushed to teach Nicole a lesson.
Nicole stood impassively, enduring the blow as long as it meant she could see Austin. Turning to Vicki, she asked, âDid you summon me here today just to get hit?â
Vicki's lips formed a pleased smile. The slap was immensely gratifying. It would have been even more satisfying if she could have done it herself. However, preserving her reputation in Jarrod's eyes was crucial, even in his absence. She had to act prudently.
Vicki's animosity towards Nicole fueled this plan, recruiting Doreen, who shared her disdain, to administer the punishment. Furthermore, Doreen's involvement minimized complications, ensuring that Jarrod would not hold Doreen responsible.
Furthermore, everyone recognized Doreen's capricious and irrational character.
Vicki smirked and replied, âWhat? I didn't summon you here to have Doreen hurt you, and I would never do such a thing. Donât misunderstand the situation.â
Nicole, more perceptive than anyone, realized that it was not a mistake. Vicki skillfully used Doreen as a pawn to express her anger.
Vicki's cunning was remarkable.
âExactly!â Doreen intervened. âLetâs be clear, Vicki has nothing to do with this. I came here to deal with you myself. Who do you think you are, you wretch? How dare you cause trouble at my wedding and make things difficult for me? âI will beat you to death.â
Doreen grabbed Nicole by the hair and slammed her against the table.
Holding Nicole firmly in place, Doreen said, âToday you will feel the same humiliation and resentment that I endured that day!â
Nicole felt no fear. She was prepared to endure the pain. She fixed her gaze on Vicki and said, âMiss Hampton, I trust you will keep your promise as we agreed.â
Looking at Nicole's miserable state, Vicki smiled and replied, "Of course. I'm the most reliable person you'll ever meet. I'll keep my word."
Vicki preferred not to get directly involved, so her response was deliberately vague.
As long as Vicki kept her promise, Nicole was indifferent to any manipulation. Otherwise, she would not tolerate Doreen's abuse.
Doreen lifted the champagne and beer bottles and tilted them over Nicole's head. She sneered, âYou don't like drinking? Don't worry. Even if you don't like drinking, I'll make sure you get the hang of it. âEnjoy your time.â
The pungent smell of alcohol soaked Nicole's face.
With her eyes closed, Nicole remained passive, not resisting.
