Chapter 1381
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1381:
? ? ? ? ?
âYouâre being unreasonable!â The security guard's frustration boiled over. He had already broken protocol by relaying a message from an outsider. Now, with Nicole refusing to leave, if the butler reported him, he would take the blame.
His attitude towards Nicole changed, his tone turning abrupt as he addressed her directly: âMadam, are you refusing to leave? Then donât hold me responsible for any discourtesy.â
Two security guards quickly approached, grabbed Nicole by the shoulders and escorted her outside.
Nicole fought bravely, but was no match for the strength of the two burly security guards.
As they held her down, one of them said, âMiss, we don't want to do this. We don't want to bother anyone. If you cooperate, it wonât come to this, okay?â
Desperate, Nicole pleaded: âMy son is in danger. âI have to call the police.â
One of the guards laughed disdainfully. âMiss, are you serious? The young master is always on the balcony, he seems perfectly healthy. What danger are you talking about? Are you paranoid?â
Hearing this, Nicole's fear lessened slightly, although her worry remained.
The guard continued: âLook, even if you call the police, they won't take a complaint like that seriously. You know that, right? Try it, but you might be the one in trouble. You might even end up in a mental institution. The young master is well looked after by Miss Hampton. She's a wonderful stepmother, very attentive. She visits him every day to look after himâ¦â
Nicole's expression darkened. Before Vicki's wedding to Jarrod, she was sure that Vicki wouldn't hurt Austin. But now, with the tables turned, she wasn't so sure.
Vicki's actions against Kamilah, the nanny who had been caring for Austin and whom Austin trusted, were to gauge Jarrod's reactions. If Jarrod showed indifference to Kamilah's well-being, it could suggest that Austin could be in danger if Vicki made a move.
Although it was all speculation, Nicole clung to the adage: âPrevention is better than cure.â She couldn't let this happen.
Determined, she shouted: "Vicki, get out! Vicki, get out!"
The guards tried to silence Nicole, but it was too late.
Nicole broke free from the guards' grasp with renewed strength, driven by her burning desire to protect Austin, and ran to the door, pounding on it and calling for Vicki.
Moments later, the door opened.
Vicki intervenes when she saw the security guards mistreating Nicole.
"Stop, stop. She's Austin's mother. You can't treat her like that."
Vicki approached with a calm and friendly lover, looking very much like the lady of the house, and asked Nicole, âAre you hurt?â
Nicole doubted Vicki's sincerity, but knew she had to proceed with caution.
Suppressing his anger, he inquired, "Miss Hampton, why did Austin's nanny become ill?"
Vicki seemed surprisingly surprised by the question. âNicole, Iâm not sure about the nannyâs sudden illness. After all, illnesses are common. It's a part of life. Are you suggesting that Iâm responsible?â
Vicki's expression turned sad and she looked close to tears. "It's hard being a stepmom. I do everything I can for Austin, but I can't take care of everything, let alone the health of an elderly nanny. Can you understand that, Nicole?"
The security guards found it difficult to continue observing the exchange.
