Chapter 1380
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1380:
? ? ? ? ?
Vicki had a talent for disguising herself and fooling the public with her façade of innocence. However, deep inside, she harbored a heart of unmitigated cruelty. No one rivaled her in cruelty. Jarrod would be better off marrying anyone but Vicki.
Nicole's apprehension deepened, and her resolve to enter Jarrod's villa to check on Austin grew stronger. Unable to obtain Jarrod's approval for her entry, she resolved to explore alternative avenues.
Turning to Alec, Nicole expressed her concern: âAlec, there is reason to be concerned about Miss Hampton. I implore you to pay more attention to Austin. After all, he is Jarrodâs son as well.â
This served as a reminder to Alec that he possessed intelligence and would not easily fall for deception. Although Vicki excelled in the art of deception, her façade was destined to crumble over time.
After the phone call concluded, Nicole considered alternative approaches, but the mansion's formidable security posed insurmountable obstacles. Scaling the walls or navigating the backyard proved futile efforts.
So Nicole resorted to a crude and inelegant tactic: vocalization. Standing by the mansion's door, she called out to the nanny, confident that the house staff would recognize her voice. Her only goal was to assert her presence and intentions.
Nicole deliberately refrained from saying Austin's name, for fear of upsetting him.
Given Austin's unique nature, Nicole treated all aspects of him with the utmost caution.
Nicole shouted, âKamilah, Kamilah, are you there?â
After several repetitions, the security personnel intervened, urging her to desist. âMadam, shouting is prohibited in this residential area. If you persist, I will be forced to ask you to leave.â
The security guards' behavior went from polite to apprehensive, not out of fear of disturbing, but out of fear of offending.
To them, Nicole's behavior suggested that she was not familiar with Jarrod. In places where she socialized, she would refrain from such clamor, and Jarrod would likely have instructed her to enter.
Unfazed by the guard's attempts to shoo her away, Nicole stated, "My purpose is to meet with Kamilah today. If you'd rather not put up with my calls, kindly make sure Kamilah is present inside. That's all I ask."
The guard firmly replied, âMadam, I cannot help in such matters. Entering the mansion to locate someone is beyond our scope. Your actions are unsustainable. If you persist in causing disturbances, immediate eviction will be necessary.â
Nicole, picking up her phone, replied, âKamilah and I have lost contact, which only adds to my concern. If she does not reconnect today, the police will be forced to intervene. Do you wish to avoid such consequences? A simple confirmation of Kamilahâs presence can avoid any confusion. I promise to leave promptly upon hearing her voice during the call, without interrupting anyone. Okay?â
Nicole proposed a compromise, prompting the guards to weigh their options. Indeed, tasking the butler with confirming an identity within did not pose a significant challenge.
On the contrary, escorting Nicole risked aggravating the consequences, she should resort to police intervention.
After deliberation, one of the guards intervened: âWait here. I will consult the butler for confirmation. But once you receive the answer, please refrain from further disturbance.â
Nicole gravely acknowledged. âYou have my word. I won't bother you any further. âMy only concern is for Kamilahâs well-being, as I have been unable to locate her.â
Ensuring Kamilah's safety was paramount to safeguarding Austin. With Kamilah present, Nicole was confident in Austin's protection. But nowâ¦
Given Austin's circumstances, it seemed likely that Kamilah was either obligated or unable to adequately attend to Austin's needs.
Nicole's mind raced with conjectures, increasing her anxiety.
Shortly after, the guard emerged from inside and said, âMadam, the butler has informed you that Kamilah is unwell and under care. Unfortunately, he is unable to contact you. You must return and await his communication once she recovers.â
Nicole's apprehension increased. This sudden declaration of illness to the point of not having the strength to make a phone call?
However, he had recently communicated with Kamilah via text messages. This discrepancy suggested that the sender of the messages was an impostor.
Nicole shook her head firmly and pleaded, âSir, please allow me entry to see Kamilah. I cannot rest until I have seen herâ¦â
