Chapter 1374

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1374:

? ? ? ? ?

After a brief thought, Jarrod sent a message to Vicki.

On the other side.

In the car, Austin's previously sweet lover was gone, replaced by a withdrawn, cold look as he faced Vicki. He looked slightly scared and uncomfortable.

"You promised me that if I behave, I'll be able to see my mommy, right?"

Vicki now had a cold, distant expression, her previous friendly facade gone. "Austin, you have to try harder. The chance to see your mommy depends on you making your father truly happy."

Austin strayed a bit. He was an introvert by nature and had already stretched his social skills to the max for the previous performance in Jarrod's presence.

Still, he kept trying, driven by Vicki's assurance that if he could make Jarrod happy, he would get to see his mother.

But adults often masked their feelings well. Austin found it difficult to judge Jarrod's mood. He was too young to understand the complexity of Jarrod's feelings.

Jarrod was actually quite happy at the moment, compared to his usual self.

Austin tilted his head, anxiously fiddling with his fingers. He desperately wanted to see his mother.

Suddenly, Vicki's phone rang with a message from Jarrod. It was concise and clear. “Get ready for the wedding.”

“No way!” Vicki burst out laughing, tears of joy streaming from her eyes.

She knew it! She'd bet on the right horse! Jarrod did care about Austin, and making him believe that she treated Austin with tenderness had made all the difference.

Vicki's face softened significantly. She leaned toward Austin and whispered, "Your father said you'd done well before. Just a little more effort and you'll be able to see your mommy."

Austin's eyes widened in hopeful surprise. “Really?”

“Absolutely. Not only will you see your mother, but you will be able to live happily with her,” Vicki said, her eyes shining with mischief.

He promised to take care of Nicole and Austin once their goals were achieved, tie up all the loose ends and make them disappear forever.

Austin's face was filled with hope for a reunion with Nicole, unaware of Vicki's ulterior motives. The thought of seeing Nicole again after so many days filled him with joy.

Taking the moment to capture a photo of Austin's joyful face, Vicki sent him on his way and had the nanny take care of his nightly routine.

It was only when Austin went to bed that she texted Jarrod back. “I've been playing with Austin and just saw your message. I'm so glad you want to make it official. “I love you.”

She attached the photo of Austin's genuine smile she had captured earlier and sent it to Jarrod.

Vicki then exchanged a knowing glance with the nanny who was handling Austin's nightly routine, who agreed and followed her.

Vicki walked to a secluded corner, away from any surveillance, and asked, "How's that nanny holding up lately?"

Vicki was referring to the nanny originally responsible for Austin's care, hired by Nicole. That nanny truly cared for Austin and would never hurt him. No amount of money could change her loyalty.

So Vicki had resorted to poisoning this loyal nanny, stealthily administering small doses of poison into the latter's food and drinks. Over a month, the toxins built up and the nanny predictably fell ill.

The loyal nanny was no longer in a condition to care for Austin. At the hospital Vicki had arranged, no doctor could determine the exact problem, attributing the nanny's symptoms to gastrointestinal problems.

Worried, the loyal nanny was reluctant to part with Austin, as Nicole had trusted him to her care. She considered Austin almost hers, determined to protect him.
