Chapter 1370

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1370:

? ? ? ? ?

Although Alec saw through Miguel's façade, he was powerless to intervene. He had sensed Miguel's ulterior motives, but he remained unsure of their nature. Vigilance was imperative.

Alec sneered. “Mr. Watts, save your words for Mr. Schultz when he regains consciousness. Don't assume unlimited authority and do whatever you want just because your son married into the Schultz family. You don’t seem to understand Mr. Schultz.”

Hearing Alec's brazen words, Miguel's complexion turned dull, seeing anger bubbling within him. For a mere subordinate like Alec to address him in such a manner! Was this the respect he earned? Alec hadn't taken him seriously.

Miguel swore to make Alec regret his insolence as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Nicole stood stock still, her expression one of bewilderment and anguish. Alec glared at her, exhausting her patience.

"What are you waiting for? Are you going to wait for Mr. Schultz to succumb to his wounds?"

Alec had no desire to rescue Nicole. She had caused Jarrod considerable distress.

Even though Jarrod insisted that he had no feelings for Nicole, the mere thought of the danger she was in forced him to act.

Alec was speechless. Men who were hopeless romantics were more daunting than women in love. Jarrod would risk his life to safeguard Nicole, but she would offer him no gratitude in return; Alec didn't understand Jarrod's intentions at all.

However, he was bound to follow Jarrod's directives, despite his reluctance. Jarrod's impulsive tendencies in saving Nicole instilled fear in him.

Alec understood that keeping Nicole safe was non-negotiable. Otherwise, he would have a hard time justifying his actions to Jarrod.

Approaching Nicole, Alec took her arm and guided her to the waiting car.

Miguel's unpredictability forced Alec to keep an eye on Nicole.

Nicole sensed Miguel's murderous intentions, probably because his actions jeopardized her plans. In such a scenario, Roscoe faced an even greater threat.

However, staying here would only subject her to the control of others, rendering her incapable of fighting against the Watts family. Leaving seemed the most prudent option, giving her the opportunity for careful deliberation.

So Nicole followed Alec and got into the car.

Along the way, the ship's doctor began treating Jarrod's wounds.

Jarrod's noncompliance necessitated vigilant supervision of Alec to ensure adequate medical care.

Although the bleeding had temporarily stopped, Jarrod's blood-stained shirt still betrayed his dangerous condition.

Alec muttered curses under his breath and fixed Nicole with a piercing stare. Throughout the ride, his gaze locked with her repeatedly. He longed to speak, but the words kept getting stuck in his throat.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctor rushed Jarrod in for urgent treatment.

The doctor was shocked by the extent of Jarrod's injuries, suspected he was a potential terrorist, and considered alerting the authorities.

Alec was quick to intervene, clarifying the circumstances and producing evidence from hospital records in the mountain area, along with newspaper clippings.

Slowly convinced, the doctor began Jarrod's treatment.

Alec exhaled deeply in relief. He then motioned for the doctor to examine Nicole, but she refused.

"I don't need it. I'm leaving," Nicole said.

“Where are you going?” Alec replied disdainfully. “Back to the Watts family mansion to meet your demise?”
