Chapter 1366

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1366:

The woman in red replied cautiously, “Sir, our only option is to administer a parasite that will awaken him, but will severely damage his body. This parasite targets the brain, and your son is likely to…”

He broke off, leaving the grim implication hanging in the air. It was clear to everyone. Roscoe's chances of survival were slim.

Miguel's concerns were elsewhere, focused solely on his personal interests; he still owned assets that he had not yet transferred abroad and he needed Roscoe, the heir to whom he intended to transfer control of the Watts family, to bear all the blame for the misdeeds that the other members of the Watts family had committed. Thus, Roscoe's survival was crucial, but only for now.

If Roscoe were to die right now, Miguel's elaborate plan would fall apart, potentially dragging the Schultz family down with it. Jarrod, unaware of Miguel's true motives, would never agree to Doreen marrying Roscoe despite his affection.

Jarrod, by pressing the Watts and Schultz families to unite through marriage, had unwittingly played into Miguel's hands.

Miguel's machinations were truly cunning.

After some thought, Michael decisively ordered, “Do it. Relive it now. “I need this wedding to go on without a hitch.”

This action would signal to the community that the Watts family remained robust and stable, ensuring the smooth running of their covered investment efforts and guaranteeing long-term security for their other heirs overseas. The Watts bloodline was thus poised for long-lasting prosperity.

The woman in red's expression turned reluctant. “Sir, the risk increases with each use of the parasite. If he suffers another attack, he may not make it…”

Miguel responded with visible irritation: “I have invested a lot in your tribe of witches for this task. Spare your excuses. You must follow my orders, understood?”

The woman in red thought for a moment and realized that he was right. Miguel was her boss, mot Roscoe. They would have to comply with whatever Miguel demanded, even if it meant harming Roscoe.

The witch tribe specialized in using parasites for mind control such that even the most precise machine could not detect anything amiss.

If Roscoe were examined in a hospital now, no signs would be seen until the parasites had eaten away at his brain.

Once satiated, the parasites would exit the host's brain to find another host or return to their origin.

The woman in red took a small sandalwood box out of her belongings.

The old man immediately understood what was going to happen when he saw the box and began to reprimand her vehemently. He insisted that his disciples do not engage in harming others with parasites.

The woman in red had only told the old man, her master, about Miguel's request to mentally control Roscoe, with a large sum of money as a reward that was enough to preserve his tribe's base, a sacred place that would soon be demolished.

Losing that place would mean the loss of a crucial breeding ground for parasites and, potentially, the end of his tribe without wounds.

Each member of the tribe raised the parasites in their own bodies from childhood, being the first hosts. Over time, the parasites matured and became mobile entities that, upon reaching maturity, were expelled using a specific herb.

These parasites were collected from the world's clearest lake, fed on fog and dew until they reached a viable size, after which they were stored in sandalwood boxes for later use.

The parasites cradled in the hand of the woman in red were forty years old and possessed unimaginable toxicity.

Despite the old man's efforts to stop inflicting harm on Roscoe, the guards, under Miguel's orders, forcibly took him away.

Miguel, observing the woman in red's hesitation, stroked his beard, his face twisting into a sly smile. “Emerie, do you remember our initial agreement that neither party could renege? Otherwise, you and your master would not be able to leave Ardlens safely.”

Miguel's threat was clear.
