Chapter 1359
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1359:
? ? ? ? ?
The Schultz Group, whose reputation had been tarnished by some previous scandals, quickly became the talk of the town.
With widespread praise for Jarrod's exploits, the Schultz Group's share price soared, increasing significantly overnight.
At this point, numerous media outlets were out and about, eager to interview Jarrod.
However, if Jarrod's earlier statements about his lack of intention to save the kidnapped girls were broadcast, the media frenzy might dissipate and attention would wane.
âI'm sorry, miss. Mr. Schultz has a head injury.â Alec pointed to his head and said to the girl, âHe's a little disoriented right now. Please don't take his words to heart. âHeâll be back to normal when he recovers.â
The girl felt somewhat relieved and asked with concern, âIs he hurt anywhere else?â
Alec shook his head. âNo, he just needs to rest. âMiss, why donât you rest too?â
After convincing the girl to leave, Alec hastily closed the door and turned to Jarrod to ask anxiously, âSir, why did you say that to the girl? Do you realize that the Schultz Group's stock price has skyrocketed because of your actions? Plus, the company's reputation has improved dramatically and its selfless actions have been covered in the media. All things considered, you did save an entire truckload of kidnapped girls. Isnât that true?â
Of course, Alec understood why Jarrod said those words to the girl.
Jarrod was serious. He was never one to raise an eyebrow at other people's business. Never in his life would he act out of character and go all the way just to save someone for no reason.
If it hadn't been for the fact that Nicole was in danger, he wouldn't have investigated or intervened, and the rescue would never have happened.
Alec added, âYour motive doesn't matter. You did help save everyone on that truck anyway. Why are you denying it?â
Jarrod ignored Alec's comment and asked directly, "What about her?"
Alec sighed silently, knowing that Jarrod hadn't paid any attention to his words.
As long as Nicole was involved, Jarrod wouldn't take advice from anyone else.
âShe left early in the morning,â Alec replied, visibly upset. âIf you hadn't saved her, she would have been at the mercy of those lunatics, probably severely beaten and thrown into the crocodile pool. Yet she didn't even show gratitude and ran away. Itâs too much.â
Years ago, while abroad, Alec had heard of the brutality of those perverts who delighted in the merciless torture they inflicted on their kidnapped victims.
That place looked like a gathering of those gross murderers or insane individuals whose tactics to torment people or any living soul went beyond what was imaginable.
They seemed to derive pleasure from the suffering of others, their cruelty knew no bounds.
The Schultz Group had stayed away from the gray areas, securing permission to operate within Ambrosia.
As is well known, Ambrosia valued its strict enforcement against such industries, showing no tolerance for illegal activities.
Thus, those dangerous elements never had the chance to wreak devastation on Ambrosia.
This time, the Ambrosia police had only managed to capture a few minor accomplices, while the real masterminds remained abroad.
That group of perverts would surely seek revenge for their losses, especially since their local base had been destroyed.
By saving Nicole from their clutches, Jarrod had practically provoked them, which Alec felt was not worth it.
âMiss Lawrence doesn't know how to show her gratitude at all. Ugh! I'm kind of used to it. No matter how kindly you treat her, she only responds with hostility,â Alec commented, complaining. âShe's heartless! Mr. Schultz, donât be fooled by her anymore!â
Jarrod ignored his speech and asked, âWhat day is it?â
