The next challenge was to get the man out of the car. But Nicole didn't have the strength to do it alone. She quickly came up with a plan and asked the man: "I'm about to get you out. Can you cooperate with me a little?"
The man was unable to speak, but his fingers moved slightly, showing that he had heard Nicole's words.
Nicole said, âWe only have one chance and we have to work together perfectly. I'll get you out when I count to three. Just make sure you gather the strength you have left to get out of the car.â
The man moved his fingers slightly, showing his reluctance. He understood the risk he was taking. If the plan failed, they would both die.
If Nicole got out now, at least she could survive.
Nicole tried to grab the man's hand, but he clenched his fist tightly and resisted.
Nicole asked, âWhy?â Why are you resisting? âWeâre running out of time.â
The fire in the back seat was growing stronger and the rear of the car was almost engulfed in flames. The van that had fallen into the valley was now a charred husk, looking absolutely ghastly. Time was running out. They had to move fast.
Seeing that the man was still uncooperative, Nicole said to him, "Write it on my hand."
Understanding her, the man wrote a single word on the palm of her hand. âGo away.â
The way he hastily wrote the word suggested his urgency for her to leave quickly.
Nicole grabbed his hand before the man could pull away and said, âYou trust me, right? I promise to get us both out alive.â
The man was still not convinced, but Nicole insisted.
"If you don't go, I'll stay here with you. In less than five minutes, this car will fall off the cliff. We can die together or live. It's your choice, and I respect it."
At his words, the man's fingers tightened firmly. Clearly, Nicole's determination resonated with him. Finally, he turned his hand over and clasped his hands, indicating that he was willing.
Nicole said, âThen Iâll start.â
Her palms and back were soaked with sweat. Fear gripped her, but she couldn't back down.
There were no second chances in life. Only choices that mattered or not.
Nicole believed that the man, who had saved a truckload of kidnapped girls, was a true hero and deserved better than that fate.
âGet ready,â she said firmly, grabbing her arm tightly and stepping back to give them space. Taking a deep breath, she counted, âOne, two, three!â
âCrash!â With all her might, Nicole pulled the man towards her.
Then the man fell on Nicole.
As the man was dragged out of the black SUV, the car plummeted off the cliff with a loud crash.
âUghâ¦â Nicole felt dizzy and disoriented, overwhelmed by the weight of the man pressing down on her.
Coming to his senses, the man moved quickly, relieving the pressure on Nicole.
