Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1355:

The girl nodded, her expression determined.

“I see that you want to go back to help that person. I respect your bravery. He saved us and he is a good person. But I don't have his courage. Instead, I will go on to find help.”

“Okay. Be careful on your way and stay alert, okay?” Nicole warned him.

The girl agreed. “I understand. You be careful too. Thank you. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't know what would have become of us..."

All of these kidnapped girls came from disadvantaged backgrounds and were inexperienced. They rarely interacted with city dwellers. They had been tricked by villagers who had promised them work, only to end up confined.

They were treated very harshly. If they resisted, they were beaten and some had festering wounds on their legs. They hoped for a better future, but the reality was much harsher.

Fortunately, they were still within the confines of Ambrosia. Had they been taken to a foreign land, they could only fear what might have happened to them.

“No need to thank me. Get going,” Nicole urged before running alone toward the black SUV.

Despite her wounds, which hurt with every step, she was determined to leave death behind. Any hesitation could send the black SUV over the cliff.

Upon reaching the black SUV, Nicole saw that it was filled with thick smoke. Luckily, the window had already been smashed by someone in the van, which likely saved those inside from suffocating.

There were no signs of life or sounds inside the black SUV. A man lay motionless in the driver's seat, his face turned away, apparently unconscious from smoke inhalation.

Nicole cautiously opened the car door, aware that even a small shift could cause the vehicle to fall over the cliff and possibly take her with it. She was therefore putting her life at risk.

However, he felt he could not stay behind without trying to help, especially after the driver had risked his own life several times to save everyone in the truck.

Regardless of the outcome, she was determined not to abandon the driver, as he represented the other girls kidnapped in the truck.

Nicole opened the door gently, trying to keep her movements to a minimum.

When the door opened, the man inside did not react. He was covered in blood, making it difficult to make out his features.

Nicole's hand first reached for the seat belt buckle. Her body was securely fastened by the seat belt.

Fortunately, there had been no collision, so the airbag had not deployed, which ironically had saved his life.

Otherwise, it would have been much more difficult to remove it, and not even divine intervention would have been able to help, since moving it would have been impossible.

Nicole stretched out her body, taking care to avoid any contact with the car as much as possible, and tightened the buckle. Even a slight movement could send the car over the edge.

He lifted his foot and just as he was about to reach the buckle, the man in the car stirred. A light cough shook the car.

Nicole froze and said urgently, “Hold on. Don't cough and don't move. Just stay like that and I’ll get you out.”

It was hard to tell if the man had heard Nicole, but he stood still.

Nicole took a deep breath and tried again. This time, she tried to undo it with a quick movement. She pushed with her foot and, with a click, the buckle opened.

He quickly grabbed one end of the belt to minimize movement and prevent the car from rocking.

As she carefully retracted it, she noticed the man's fingers moving slightly, indicating that he might be regaining consciousness.

I murmured, “Don't be afraid. I'm here to save you. I'll get you out of here. Thank you for saving us all.”

The man's eyelashes blinked, as if sensing his presence, but he was unable to speak. His throat was clogged with smoke, making it impossible for him to speak.
