Taking advantage of the fact that the other guard was smoking, Nicole quickly retreated to the original modest cabin.

Unlocking the door from the outside, Nicole's presence struck such fear into those inside that they trembled at the mere sound of it opening. Even when Nicole stood before them, they remained motionless, too terrified to move.

In a low voice, Nicole asked, “Do you want to come with me?”

Silence enveloped the cabin. All the occupants remained paralyzed by fear or bound by silence.

Nicole asked again, “Do you wish to leave? If I embark on a quest for help, the journey will be prolonged and the risk of discovery will be high. There is no certainty of my return. However, if we leave together, safety is uncertain, though I promise to safeguard each of you as best I can!”

Following Nicole's passionate plea, a trembling hand, belonging to a very young girl, rose. "Miss, I will join you..."

Shortly after, a cascade of voices emerged from the shadows.

"Count on me!"

"I'm with you!"

"Include me too!"

Nicole silenced them with a gesture and said, “Proceed quietly. Everyone crawl to the van. Pair up and pay close attention to my signals. If my index finger is up, it is safe to proceed toward the vehicle. If not, stay still. Is that clear?”

Each person nodded, prompting Nicole to gesture with her finger. Two girls silently walked out.

With a subtle movement, Nicole signaled two other girls to follow suit.

They proceeded with caution and deliberation until all the kidnapped girls were in the vehicle. Without saying a word, they lay down on the ground, huddling together to minimize their visibility.

Nicole meticulously draped a tarp over the girls. Their slender figures huddled together, making it difficult to discern the true number of occupants in the car.

After securing the tarp, Nicole walked to the driver's seat and turned on the ignition.

Suddenly, a menacing gun pressed against Nicole's temple.

"Hey!" The guard at the door had spotted Nicole and asked suspiciously, "What are you doing?"

Speaking with an Ambrosia accent, this guard probably came from somewhere outside of Ambrosia.

Nicole's back was drenched in sweat and she made an urgent gesture with her hands, indicating that she needed to get something out of the car for the person in the next room.

Although the guard could not understand her words, he understood the gist of her gestures. With the gun, he hit Nicole's head and ordered her: "Goal."

His order was clear. He was for Nicole to go to the cabin and confront the individual inside to try to confirm the veracity of his words.

Nicole's heart raced in fear. Inside the cabin there was only the man's lifeless body and blood stains. Entering would undoubtedly lead to his quick discovery and the guard would not hesitate to pull the trigger in moments.

Reluctantly, Nicole began to approach the cabin. Before leaving, however, she deliberately dropped the keys on the soft ground, making sure they wouldn't make a sound upon impact.
