Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1337:

? ? ? ? ?

The map on his phone revealed that the driver had deviated from the intended route and was now going in a completely different direction.

The driver replied nonchalantly, “No, miss. I'm going to take a shortcut. In fact, it will cost me less.” His voice was clear and high-pitched, a stark contrast to the congested tone he had used earlier.

As Nicole looked out at the barren landscape around her, her unease grew.

"No, sir. Please return to the original route in navigation. I will bear the expense."

“Miss, it's quite a long way to go back now. It will take us much longer. Don't worry. “We’ll get there quickly.”

Ignoring Nicole's plea, the driver stepped harder on the accelerator. The car accelerated to almost 120 kilometers per hour, well above the 80-kilometer-per-hour limit for urban roads.

Nicole was about to press the emergency call button when her phone beeped and turned off due to low battery.

Everything seemed to be going wrong.

With no battery, Nicole had to think fast. She knew something was wrong and remembered that she had checked the car's color and license plate before getting in. Everything seemed fine. So why did she feel so uneasy?

He glanced at the driver's license on the passenger seat and saw the driver's work photo. The man in the photo had broad, trustworthy features.

But the driver's eyes, visible above the mask, were narrow and slanted, completely different from those in the photo.

Nicole's heart sank as she realized her mistake. The man was certainly not his assigned driver. He was taking her to an unknown location.

She knew she had to feign ignorance to find a chance to escape. Confronting him directly might not end well for her.

But before she could plan her next move, the driver noticed that she had been looking at her driver's license.

The driver confidently took off his mask and said, “I just started my shift. The previous driver was someone else.”

“Okay.” Nicole kept her tone even. She knew she had to stay calm and play pretend to find a chance to escape.

The driver seemed taken back by Nicole's calm response and did not reveal his true intentions. He continued driving, clearly planning to take Nicole to a specific location.

Nicole suspected that accomplices were waiting for her at her destination.

Good news could not have awaited him.

He looked at the gear shift, considering the odds of surviving a jump from the car at 75 miles per hour.

The car was going at full speed, but when it started to rain cats and dogs, the driver had to slow down a little to avoid the slippery road.

Visibility was reduced by the rain, making it risky to drive fast, as the car could easily skid or roll over.

This situation gave Nicole her chance. While she seemed to be staring aimlessly ahead, she glanced at the LCD to check the speed of the car.

As the speedometer dropped to about seventy kilometers per hour, taking advantage of a moment when the driver was slightly distracted, Nicole stealthily pressed the door unlock button. The door opened with a click.

Before the driver could react, Nicole slammed open the back door and jumped out.
