Chapter 1327

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1327:

? ? ? ? ?

Vicki turned and walked away, leaving Nicole to ponder the sinister implications of her words.

Clutching the money tightly, Nicole began to think about the possibilities. She was sure Vicki meant to hurt Austin.

Nicole followed Vicki with her gaze, fixed on Vicki's retreating figure, emotions swirling within her.

At that moment, Jamie came over, his face marked by mock concern. “Cherry, what's going on here? Did today’s customer give you a hard time?”

Jamie had intentionally approached her after witnessing the exchange between Nicole, Jarrod, and Vicki. He didn't understand why Jarrod was acting so harshly towards Nicole and concluded that Nicole had fallen out of favor with him.

In Jamie's observation, Vicki was loved by Jarrod and the only one who deserved Jarrod.

Jamie felt a secret thrill of relief that Jarrod's affection for Nicole might not be as deep as she had feared. Jarrod was fickle, always chasing new women and quickly throwing away old ones. In that case, his past mistakes in inflicting pain on Nicole would be less significant if his love for Nicole faded.

She assumed that Jarrod's disdain for her stemmed from his feelings for Nicole. If his love for Nicole had faded, could he forgive her?

Nicole chose not to answer Jamie. She didn't want to confront Jamie directly or expose him yet. Her goal was to discover Jamie's true motives as well as the mastermind behind the scene.

Nicole was wary of allying herself with someone she didn't fully understand.

Many appeared to offer help, but in reality they were simply using others to carry out their unpleasant tasks. Over time, these supposed helpers would turn on their accomplices, making them scapegoats. No one was willing to take the blame for the misdeeds of others.

Jamie sensed Nicole's reticence and was frustrated by her inaccessibility. At first, she feared Nicole's retaliation if her true intentions were discovered.

Relieved by Nicole's inaction, Jamie mistakenly believed that Nicole was merely suspicious without any concrete evidence of her machinations. She decided to look for another opportunity to accomplish the task assigned to her later.

Returning to the bathroom, Nicole found Jemma smoking nonchalantly by the door, seemingly oblivious to Nicole's presence and letting the secondhand smoke invade her.

Jemma looked at Nicole's disheveled state and scoffed, "You really are amazing, managing to annoy three tough characters at once."

Jemma was referring to Doreen, Vicki and Jarrod. Doreen was rude with bad intentions.

Vicki pretended to be nice, but she was cunning with malicious intentions, and Jarrod was particularly ruthless. Any mistake by the waitress would have serious consequences.

“I’m sorry I caused you trouble,” Nicole murmured softly.

She had yet to discern Jemma's true intentions. However, her observations suggested that beneath Jemma's abrasive demeanor and sharp tongue lay a kind nature.

Jemma often defended the waitresses from unruly customers. Although their reprimands could seem harsh, they often protected the waitresses from potentially offensive situations with VIP customers.

Without Jemma's intervention, many would have struggled to continue in their positions.

There was a clear divide among the waitresses. Some were in it for the money, while others bore silent burdens, driven by family obligations.

Those who sought money mastered the art of manipulation and showed little consideration for others.

Jemma consistently refused to help them, no matter the circumstances. Instead, she supported those who found themselves in the industry out of sheer necessity and desperation.

As a result, Nicole had come to regard Jemma as essentially decent.

Plus, Jemma had assigned her clients who were generally less problematic.

Hearing Nicole's apology, Jemma let out a groan. "Don't blame me if I didn't warn you..."

Jemma said coldly, “Those three individuals are not to be trifled with. If possible, tolerate them or keep your distance. If trouble arises, don't expect me to help you!”
