Chapter 1323

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1323:

? ? ? ? ?

Doreen, encouraged by the flattery, became even more conceited.

When Nicole came back to cut the cake, Doreen pointedly asked Roscoe, "Roscoe, do you know what I wished for just now?"

Roscoe remained silent, his indifference palpable. I have regretted trying to get along with Doreen. How could he have been attracted to someone so quarrelsome and aggressive? Those rumors that he had once been in love with her had to be wrong.

Lately, Roscoe had been haunted by dreams of a woman with eyes like butterfly wings and a smile that dazzled more than the stars. She was not like ordinary girls, her spirit was free and brave. Quite admirable. In his dreams, the love he felt for her was overwhelming.

But when he woke up, his face was fading away and a sense of loss filled his thoughts. He couldn't remember who she was, but he was sure it wasn't Doreen.

Noticing Roscoe's silence, Vicki asked, "Doreen, what did you want? Jarrod and I are very curious."

Feeling less isolated, Doreen replied, "I wished Roscoe and I would start a family soon."

Vicki laughed behind her hand. “You call that a wish? You’re close to making it come true.”

Vicki playfully nudged Jarrod. “Doreen can't seem to wait. Roscoe is so desirable that Doreen wants to tie the knot soon, or someone might snatch him away.”

Although the comment was light-hearted, it unsettled Doreen. She managed a smile. “Vicki, you’re kidding me again.”

Vicki smiled, pleased. “No, it's wonderful that you've found your love. Jarrod and I are so happy for you.”

Nicole cut the first piece of cake and offered it to Doreen.

This time Doreen accepted it without fuss and then pointed at Jarrod, saying, “The next piece is for my mighty uncle.”

Vicki's expression tightened momentarily. Not much could be expected from a fool, but showing displeasure over a piece of cake was beneath her.

When Nicole presented the cake to Jarrod, he hesitated, scrutinizing it instead of immediately accepting it.

Nicole's arms grew tired from holding the plate, and what had been a lively moment turned awkward.

Everyone's eyes were on the cake.

Vicki, unable to bear the tension and feeling slighted, quickly said, “Jarrod doesn't like sweets. “I’ll eat it for him.”

When she reached for the cake, Jarrod suddenly pulled it from the bottom of the plate and placed it on the table.

Vicki's face grew even stiffer.

Maintaining her composure, Nicole continued to hand out the cake.

As Nicole handed Vicki a piece, Vicki stared at Nicole's hand, her mind racing. Had Jarrod's fingers brushed Nicole's as she reached for the cake?

“Please enjoy it,” Nicole told Vicki.

It took Nicole's reminder for Vicki to snap out of it. She managed a forced smile and replied, "Thank you."
