Chapter 1317

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1317:

? ? ? ? ?

“Well…” Nicole still had the bottle of wine in her hand, refilling the customer’s glass.

He was reluctant to leave just yet, as lately all the customers seemed to be related to the Hampton or Schultz families.

In the chamber, a group of people were deeply engaged in a business discussion, openly chatting in front of Nicole, under the assumption that she would not understand their complex issues.

However, Nicole captured every detail with astonishing clarity and was genuinely intrigued by the conversation. For her, understanding the intricate relationships between the Hampton and Schultz families was essential.

Noticing the commotion, one of the customers turned to Jemma in an irritated voice. “Hey, Jemma, are you really taking Cherry?”

With an apologetic smile, Jemma replied, “A client requested Cherry’s presence.”

The man frowned, disgust etched across his face. “She's excelling here, and you push her aside just on someone else's whim? You think I can't foot the bill?” he snapped, his voice sharp.

“Where did you get that from? I would never assume such a thing. It would be absurd,” Jemma quickly said.

“So why take it off my table? Do you think less of me?” His voice grew heated, the tension palpable.

Clutching her chest as if she were hurt, Jemma replied with exaggerated distress, “Sir, you really are misjudging me. I explained to them the importance of having a reservation in advance, but it wasn't feasible. There's a young lady there celebrating her birthday. They're trying to keep the celebration light and cheerful. How about I offer them an extra drink on the house to make up for it?”

At the mention of a birthday, the man hesitated, then slowed slightly. “Okay, but let’s not repeat this.”

“Of course.” Jemma's smile was tinged with relief as she guided Nicole away from the escalating scene.

As she left the room, Nicole asked, “Jemma, who exactly asked about me?” She hadn't been working here long and only a few customers knew her. Was there really anyone who asked about her in particular?

Jemma replied without looking up, her voice light, "You'll know when you get there."

Nicole followed Jemma, feeling that this could spell trouble for her. When the door was pushed open, her fears were confirmed.

There stood Doreen, an all too familiar face.

Doreen was not alone. Two other women, probably friends of hers, accompanied her.

Nicole suspected that Vicki had told Doreen she was here.

Doreen's look revealed to Nicole her intention to cause trouble.

Seeing Nicole hesitated at the door, Doreen snapped, "Why are you standing there? Come serve me."

With no room to refuse, Nicole approached.

“Pour me a glass of water first,” Doreen ordered impatiently.

Nicole picked up the vessel, poured out the water, and carefully offered it to Doreen.

“Please enjoy it.” Nicole maintained her professional demeanor, showing Doreen the utmost respect.
