Chapter 1316
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1316:
? ? ? ? ?
âOnly in this way will you have a chance to approach Jarrod and administer the medicine to him,â the mysterious voice explained. âThe medicine requires precise dosing. Even a missed dose is unacceptable. Do you understand?â
Jamie, unable to voice his concerns, simply acknowledged and replied, âI understand, sir. âI will follow your instructions.â
âHe better,â the voice replied, as if reading Jamieâs mind.
The voice then issued a chilling reminder: âRemember that you have also taken the medicine. âYour fate is in my hands.â
A chill ran down Jamie's spine, and he nodded vigorously. âYes, sir. I understand. âIâll do my best.â
«End the call. From now on, do not contact me unless I initiate it.»
âOkay, okay,â Jamie was quick to reply.
After several beeps, the line was cut.
Taking a deep breath, Jamie sat up in bed, clenching his fists.
"Why should I approach that woman? I wish she were dead," Jamie mumbled to herself in the bathroom, her voice tinged with hysteria.
Jamie's mutterings oscillated between wishing Nicole and Jarrod dead and cursing Jarrod's cruelty. Yet in his vitriol, Nicole detected a trace of lingering affection for Jarrod.
This revelation was unexpected. Nicole had never imagined that Jamie still had feelings for Jarrod. Jamie was really going crazy.
From what Nicole had gathered, the mysterious individual was instructing Jamie to administer some sort of medication to Jarrod. The exact nature and effects of the drug remained unrevealed, but Nicole assumed it was not lethal. It required multiple doses to be effective, suggesting that its purpose was to exert control.
However, Nicole didn't understand why he wanted to control Jarrod.
Nicole put the earpiece away. Unfortunately, the thin-film listening device she had placed on Jamie had a major flaw.
It would malfunction if exposed to water. If Jamie took off his jacket and washed it, the device would be rendered inoperative. He was unable to obtain any further information.
However, Nicole understood that whoever was manipulating Jamie shared her goal of confronting Jarrod. An adversary of an adversary could be considered an ally.
With this shared purpose, Nicole decided to stay alert for the moment.
However, Jamie's appearance added complexity to the situation, revealing another antagonist in the shadows.
Despite everything, Nicole could not shake off the memories of past wrongs she had suffered at the hands of Jamie. Such malevolence could not go unpunished.
Two days later, Nicole was working her regular afternoon shift.
There was a regular and well-known customer, a trusted person who rarely caused any trouble.
Halfway through her turn, Jemma interrupted her.
âThe VIP of chamber 888 requests your service. Please attend to her,â Jemma instructed.
