Chapter 1281

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1281:

? ? ? ? ?

Alec was in no position to refuse. Besides, Vicki used to visit there for dinner with Jarrod before Austin moved in. There was also a guest room reserved specifically for her.

Alec just found it strange that Vicki and Jarrod were resting in separate rooms even after the engagement. Of course, they were both adults and it was normal for them to have certain needs.

Vicki was no ordinary Jane. She had a figure and looks that caught the eye, as well as an elegant demeanor that drew people in.

Alec had a hard time understanding why Jarrod had no feelings for Vicki. Even he sought out women to satisfy his needs three to five times a week.

Alec had suspected at some point that Jarrod might have problems with certain functions. Otherwise, a healthy man in the prime of life would not be so lacking in desire.

She vividly remembered what Jarrod was like when Nicole was by his side. Back then, Jarrod's face would light up with charm, always filled with desire. But with Vicki, that spark was gone, replaced by a cold, distant lover.

Upon reaching their destination, Alec went upstairs to check on Austin.

Vicki followed him. Noting her lack of desire to immediately locate her earring, Alec asked, "Miss Hampton, weren't you going to look for your earring?"

Vicki smiled. “I wanted to see Jarrod’s son.”

Alec was puzzled, unsure if Vicki was allowed to see Austin.

After all, Jarrod had never introduced Vicki to Austin.

Vicki noticed Alec's uncertainty and smiled. “Jarrod mentioned that I could visit his son. But if you're worried, I won't visit him then. You can call Jarrod for instructions. I understand that Jarrod is pretty exhausted at the hospital, and I just want to help…”

Hearing this, Alec didn't dare to refuse and didn't want to bother Jarrod with a call.

“It's okay, Miss Hampton. You can see him,” Alec said, thinking that since Vicki might soon be Austin’s stepmother, it would be a good idea for her to start bonding with Austin. And since he would be there to supervise, there was no reason to worry.

As they walked forward, Austin's bedroom door creaked open and the screams of a small child reached their ears.

Alec, alarmed, quickly asked, "What's going on?"

Austin sobbed and said, “Help her. “She’s sick.”

Alec picked up Austin and pointed to the babysitter who had been taking care of him.

Lying on the floor, the nanny's face was pale and distressed.

Alec immediately called the family doctor.

After the examination, the doctor explained, “It looks like an acute kidney stone problem, but we'll need X-rays to be sure. We can't do that here. If it is a stone, she might need surgery and hospitalization depending on its size.”

Hearing this, Alec quickly called an ambulance. Austin was still crying desperately, pulling on Alec's sleeve. "Alec, save her, please, save her, Alec."

The nanny had been with Austin since he was little, and he saw her as a real grandmother.

Austin clung to Alec, not as shy as he had with Jarrod, tears streaming down his cheeks as he pleaded, “Alec, I want to stay by his side.”

Alec felt torn. The cottage was quite far from the hospital, so bringing the nanny would be quicker. However, Austin was just a child and Alec didn't feel comfortable leaving him alone with two unknown maids.

At that point, Vicki stepped in and said, “Alec, you take her to the hospital. “I’ll stay here and take care of him.”
