Chapter 1276

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1276:

? ? ? ? ?

Although Austin never expressed it, Nicole could tell from the nanny's careful attention that his days were not easy.

Nicole closed her eyes. She was too exhausted to argue with Jarrod, unable to find the energy to even stand up.

Luckily, Jarrod stopped his scrutiny. He took off his suit jacket and tossed it to Nicole, unconcerned whether she put it on or not. Then he turned and walked back down the slope.

Nicole was no fool. In this torrential rain, without her jacket she would surely fall seriously ill. It didn't matter if she fainted herself, but her concern was for Austin. Jarrod had no real affection for Austin, and if something happened to her, Austin would be the one to suffer.

Then there was Vicki. Nicole vividly remembered Vicki's words as she walked into the courthouse. She knew the kind of woman who, driven by love, could commit unthinkable acts, even crimes.

With that thought in mind, Nicole pulled her jacket tighter around her, indifferent to its owner as long as it kept her warm.

Out of the corner of his eye, Jarrod watched her with a slight smile on his lips. Then he walked over to Derek and looked at him, now covered in mud.

That look sent a chill down Derek's spine. The tall, imposing Jarrod had wolf-like eyes, fierce and terrifying.

Throughout his life, Derek had only been involved with ordinary people, he had never faced any big shots. It was the first time he felt that a man's gaze could give him chills and make his body tremble. This sensation was far from pleasant.

“You… You dare to kick me? Do you even know who I am? “I’ll have others come to kill you,” Derek threatened, trying to muster some courage.

Before, Alec had been the one who had been in contact with Derek, but Derek had never laid eyes on Alec, let Jarrod alone.

Derek figured Nicole didn't look like a big shot, so whoever was assisting her couldn't be too notable either. He consoled himself with the thought that Jarrod just seemed tough, but not as tough as he looked.

Derek felt the need to stay strong until Jarrod acted first, so he couldn't back out. If he couldn't take Nicole down today, he would go back to Alec and have him take care of it. Otherwise, exposing the truth wouldn't bode well for him.

Alec had wanted to make him a scapegoat, but Derek wouldn't allow it. Derek wasn't stupid.

“Kill me?” Jarrod's expression was icy, his aura bristling with deadly intent. His eyes, sharp as an eagle's, flashed with a fearsome bloodlust that seemed fiercer than the stormy rain.

“Yeah… That's it! “I know some powerful people,” Derek stammered.

"I'll have someone come for me to kill you and that woman."

“You're so influential, huh? “Kill us both?” Jarrod chatted nonchalantly, even taking his time to unbuckle his watch.

Jarrod rarely engaged in small talk at work. If he bothered to speak more than a few words, it indicated that the person he was addressing had made a serious mistake. His words were effectively a “death sentence.”

It was almost impossible to get another job in the same sector if one was fired by the Schultz Group.

Derek didn't know Jarrod. He was only interested in the stock market and entertainment, and never bothered with financial magazines that featured big names.

Noticing that Jarrod, despite his menacing aura, spoke with such composure, Derek foolishly believed that Jarrod was frightened by his threats.

Derek declared smugly, “Yes, I know some very influential people. If I want you dead, you won't get it…”

Before Derek could finish speaking, a dark shadow suddenly passed before his eyes. “Ah…”

Derek's screams rent the air, as painful as a pig trapped under a fence.
