Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1263:
? ? ? ? ?
Deep down, she had her doubts that Jarrod would resort to such extreme measures as harming Nicole.
I knew Nicole and Jarrod's relationship was intricate. Jarrod's feelings for Nicole oscillated between affection and animosity, but affection prevailed.
However, Mitchel couldn't understand Jarrod sanctioning any harm against Nicole. There had to be a misunderstanding, but with her absence from the country, the most expeditious means of locating Nicole seemed to be to contact Jarrod directly.
Determined, Mitchel dialed Jarrod's number without hesitation.
After several rings, Jarrod finally answered.
Fresh from a trip, Jarrod was enjoying a late night dinner with Vicki.
The relationship between Mitchel and Jarrod had grown distant over time due to opposing perspectives, and if it weren't for Luis's interventions in their childhood camaraderie, they might have grown apart entirely.
Anticipating nothing urgent from Mitchel, Jarrod casually greeted him in Vicki's presence: "Hi, Mitchel."
"Where are you?" Mitchel asked shortly.
âI just landed, eating something,â Jarrod replied.
Hearing Jarrod's response, Mitchel was convinced that he was not involved in Nicole's disappearance.
However, she could not shake the suspicion that someone close to Jarrod might be involved, given that few people were aware of Nicole's return to Ardlens. Apart from Jarrod and his associates, Nicole had few adversaries.
"Nicole has problems," Mitchel said.
Jarrod's expression tightened. âWhat happened?â
"Raegan called her and heard someone chasing her. Later, when we tracked her phone signal, she disappeared. We located the car she had been using, but it is nowhere to be found," Mitchel said.
After processing the information, Jarrod was silent for a few moments before replying, âIâll take care of it.â
Mitchel understood the implication. Rescue would come through Nicole.
Jarrod probably had suspicions about who might be behind it.
Mitchel felt compelled to offer a warning: âJarrod, don't make decisions you'll regret later.â It was advice from a friend who had witnessed Jarrod's ruthless approach to business, a method Mitchel did not approve of.
Their growing estrangement was due to Mitchell's preference to achieve success through methods that did not completely dismantle smaller companies to maximize profits.
In contrast, Jarrod acted like a shark in his domain, employing ruthless tactics to secure his victories. His methods were widely disapproved of in the financial sphere, resulting in numerous bridges being burned, and there were many who would celebrate his downfall.
Mitchel couldn't help but think that Jarrod's quest to gain custody of Austin was misguided. Jarrod had amassed a considerable number of adversaries, and if they found out about his connection to Austin, he could put him in danger.
With a heavy sigh, Mitchel proceeded to call Raegan to bring her up to date.
Raegan anxiously awaited Mitchel's call and almost answered immediately.
âMitchel, what's the situation?â Raegan's voice shook with fear, dreading the possibility of Nicole encountering something gross.
"I have instructed Matteo to send our most capable team to look for her and I have also notified the authorities, but she is not at the place where she disappeared. We are continuing with the search," admitted Mitchel, opting for total transparency, knowing that Raegan's determined character made it useless to hide the truth.
