Chapter 1253

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1253:

? ? ? ? ?

Before Nicole could finish her threat, a scream pierced the air and Vicki rushed down the front steps.

Fortunately, Vicki only made it down three steps, but she still looked like she was in agony. Her screams echoed and a red mark marked her rapidly swelling ankle.

Nicole looked at Vicki suspiciously. She hadn't laid a hand on her before.

Vicki muttered under her breath, “Miss Lawrence, you have completely misunderstood…”

Before Vicki could finish her sentence, a man approached coldly. “Who are you planning to hurt?”

Jarrod realized that Vicki had not followed him and, as he went back to get her, he heard Nicole threaten to kill someone just before Vicki fell down the stairs.

Jarrod rushed to Vicki's aid, examining her carefully for injuries.

Once he was sure there wasn't one, he asked, "How did you fall?"

Leaning against Jarrod's chest, Vicki looked fragile and scared, prompting sympathy from those around her.

“I… I’m fine… It wasn’t Miss Lawrence’s fault…” Vicki faltered, her words sounding more like a defense of Nicole than an explanation. She seemed determined to avoid conflict.

In an instant, Vicki's reputation was further enhanced. A wealthy and empathetic heiress became even more desirable.

As expected, Jarrod looked at Nicole with a cold expression and demanded, “Apologize to Vicki.” I have paid no attention to Vicki's words or the truth. He simply believed what he had seen.

At this moment, Jarrod exuded the same coldness as before.

Jarrod had decided to teach Nicole a lesson, driven by her repeated opposition to him in the past. He had decided that he would never please her or beg her again. He wanted her to experience fear and beg him as she had done in the past.

Nicole spoke coldly. “First of all, I didn't push her. Secondly, I wish her harm because she intends to harm Austin. If you let her, I won't hesitate to kill you too!”

Vicki, covering her mouth in shock, protested, “Miss Lawrence, what's wrong with you? Did I say anything negative about the child? I was merely expressing sympathy for her situation…”

Apparently overwhelmed with emotion, Vicki choked back her sobs, tears streaming down her face. “I was just expressing sympathy for you as a mother, hence the offer to look after your child. Did I say something inappropriate?”

"Miss Lawrence, please refrain from throwing mud at me. I have never committed any misdeed since my childhood, as is evident to everyone."

Vicki said, turning her head in a complaining tone. “Jarrod, I swear on the lives of my family that I never intended to hurt your son. I merely mentioned that I was looking out for him…”

Jarrod reassuringly agreed, his tone gentle. “I believe you.”

Then, his gaze turned cold as he turned to Nicole, “Apologize to Vicki!”

"Me?" A smirk played across Nicole's lips. She berated herself for naively clinging to the hope that Jarrod might actually care about Austin. To Jarrod, Austin was nothing more than a means to exert control over her.

“Jarrod, it's been over two weeks since you took Austin. Have you taken him for a checkup? Do you even know the extent of his illness? Do you really care about him? If not, why did you take him? “Answer me.” Nicole's voice cracks with despair. She felt sorry for Austin and for herself. They were like kites tied by strings that couldn't be let go.

Jarrod scoffed: “It's just a heart condition. “I’m looking for a donor for him.”
