Chapter 1224

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1224:

? ? ? ? ?

Roscoe had joked with Nicole, declaring that she would be his puppy for life.

With tears in her eyes, Nicole realized that love was never a balanced transaction.

Often one gave more than the other, but if that giving produced joy and was perceived as happiness, it meant a valuable contribution.

So, Nicole just had to answer her puppy.

Nicole raised her hand, lovingly ruffled Roscoe's hair and said, "I'm not leaving you. Things will get better for us."

At the Watts family mansion.

Jarrod was sitting on the couch, his leg propped casually on the coffee table.

“Mr. Watts, do you remember what you promised me?” he asked, clearly annoyed.

Back then, understanding the plight of the Watts family, Jarrod had shown them mercy and left Roscoe's father, Miguel, a way out.

Miguel had been so grateful that he repeatedly expressed his gratitude, promising to make sure Roscoe was separated from Nicole by any means necessary.

Truth be told, Jarrod's motives weren't worthy. He had no interest in preserving another family's legacy.

She preferred Nicole and Roscoe to part on bitter terms than to have Roscoe become a lingering memory in Nicole's mind if Roscoe passed away.

His goal was to see the lovers turn against each other in hatred. That way, he could keep Nicole by his side.

Jarrod wouldn't allow Roscoe to leave a lasting mark on Nicole's heart.

Miguel felt annoyed by Jarrod's arrogance, but he had no choice but to tolerate it, lowering his head to reply, "Mr. Schultz, I've kept an eye on Roscoe, but I haven't been able to stop Miss Lawrence from getting close to him. After all, I didn't raise Roscoe. There's a natural distance between him and me, and I can't afford to displease him too much, can I?"

Miguel's response was a clear attempt to avoid accountability. He was clearly trying to disassociate himself, seeking to cut ties.

Regardless of Roscoe's preferences in women, as long as the woman Roscoe chose could secure the Watts family legacy, Miguel did not care about her background.

Miguel planned to distract Roscoe with young, attractive secretaries.

He wasn't worried about Roscoe's loyalty.

For Miguel, Roscoe was just a means to continue the family legacy.

But now, with Roscoe as the sole heir, she could not simply watch the vast family fortune fall into the hands of other relatives. She therefore had to handle matters relating to Roscoe with the utmost care.

Jarrod replied with a cold sneer: “Mr. Watts, are you trying to play me? I wasn't saying this when I knelt before you. “I shouldn’t have shown mercy then.”

Miguel, adept at playing political games even when he was “up to his neck,” showed no shame even when his tactics were exposed. He stroked his beard and replied with a sly smile, “Mr. Schultz, we remain very grateful for your lead on Roscoe’s whereabouts. Rest assured, we are not ungrateful. If you need anything from the Watts family, just say the word, and we will be at your service without hesitation.”

His polished words, however, essentially meant complete betrayal.

Clearly he had no further interest in prying into Roscoe's personal life.

“Bang!” With a forceful slap, Jarrod sent the glass flying, hitting a decorative vase behind Miguel.
