Chapter 1219
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1219:
? ? ? ? ?
âNicole is backâ¦â Their voices were full of warmth and happiness.
Another wave of memories flooded through her. She remembered her father in his study, the lamp burning late into the night, and her mother taking out a bowl of soup that was left almost untouched.
His mother was standing there, worry etched on her face.
It was around the time that Jarrod had started attacking the Lawrence family. Back then, Nicole believed that as long as they stuck together, they could face anything together. At worst, they might go broke, but she could find work and help support her parents.
But I hadn't thought there could be a fate worse than that.
Before long, her father ended up in the hospital, and her mother, who had previously seemed kind and loving, was now staying up all night caring for him and abusing Nicole under the stress of the rumors and her father's illness.
When Dora slapped Nicole, the blow was just as hard. She couldn't understand how her daughter could end up being someone's lover.
Her spirit was broken and she couldn't bear to face Wesson in the hospital bed.
Sensing disaster was brewing, Wesson called Nicole the night before.
"Nicole, if I don't do it, you have to stay strong. Take care of yourself and take care of your mother."
Nicole burst into tears. âDad, don't say that. âWeâll be okay.â
Even if we have to leave the company, we can pay off our debts little by little until they disappear. Then he said naively: âThe three of us can live simply. We will be together and we can handle anythingâ¦â
The next day, Nicole found her father's body lying in a pool of blood, his skull crushed and one leg missing. The once-pristine golden floor that represented her family's legacy was soaked in blood.
Without his father, the world seemed to have collapsed.
Nicole had promised to take care of her mother, but ultimately failed.
The sight of Dora weighed on Nicole like chains that kept her tightly bound.
Jarrod put a hand on Nicole's shoulder, trying to comfort her.
âAh!â Nicole screamed. To her, that hand was stained with her family's blood.
Jarrod's hand floated in the air, his face contorted in frustration.
Nicole's disgust and hatred towards him was deep-rooted.
Nicole didn't understand why Jarrod couldn't leave her alone.
âIt's no good that you're so afraid of me, especially since we're going to have to live together,â Jarrod said with a twisted smile, his eyes darkened with a menacing look.
At his words, Nicole scoffed. âHave you ever seen enemies living together, Jarrod? Youâre out of your mind.â
Jarrod replied coldly, âItâs a miracle Iâve managed to keep my sanity all these years.â
In fact, he felt like he had already lost her long ago. After Nicole slipped away, he spent many sleepless nights overwhelmed by anger and fear, fearing that she would disappear from her world forever.
