Chapter 1215
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1215:
? ? ? ? ?
The babysitter was helping a child as they walked towards Nicole.
Before the nanny could say a word, tears streamed down her face.
"Missâ¦"
The little boy looked at Nicole, hesitantly in silence. To him, this mother was someone he longed to love but felt too distant to approach.
Their time together had been very limited. She only knew the nanny and Roscoe, and now someone claiming to be her father had shown up.
Nicole stood rooted to the spot, paralyzed. How could this have happened⦠How could they be here⦠At that moment, she wished it was all a dream, that none of this was real. But it wasn't a dream. Once again, it seemed that the sky remained indifferent to her anguish.
Jarrod walked over, crouched down gently, and tenderly placed his hands on the little boy's shoulders. He whispered, "Austin, call her."
"Mother."
Austin's eyes widened slightly, filled with longing. He had only called Nicole "Mom" in his dreams. Could that dream come true? Suddenly he had a mother and a father...
Nicole shuddered from head to toe. Her nails dug into her palms, drawing blood. She wanted to scream, to let out a wild cry, but she held back, afraid of scaring Austin. All she could do was shake like a leaf.
âMomâ¦â Austinâs voice faltered.
Tears began to flood Nicole's cheeks, quickly overwhelming her. Her crying began with soft sobs and then escalated into loud screams.
âMm⦠Ahâ¦â
Austin walked over and hugged Nicole, his tears starting to fall.
âMommyâ¦â
After a while, Nicole wiped away her tears and looked at Austin. âGo play with the babysitter for a while. âMommy will be here to pick you up soon.â
Austin nodded obediently and walked towards the nanny.
The nanny gave Nicole a look that suggested she had something else to say, but she stopped herself, aware of Jarrod's watchful eyes, and led Austin away.
When they left, Nicole collapsed on the ground, her strength gone. It was as if her foundations had crumbled. Totally devastated, she felt trapped.
âJarrodâ¦â she called out tiredly. âTell me, what do you want? Or rather, what are you planning?â
Jarrod looked at her with disdain. âNicole, first tell me, whose son is he?â
Jarrod had done a long investigation to get some answers. He hadn't been able to accept it until he saw Austin. Seeing Austin in the yard, his suspicions were cleared. It was definitely his son. They had such an uncanny resemblance that he deemed a paternity test unnecessary.
Still, to silence any protests from Nicole, Jarrod proceeded with the test and, as expected, the results confirmed it: Austin was his son.
Her son, indeed. Nicole had given birth to her son in secret.
Even with the evidence in hand, Jarrod still demanded confirmation from Nicole. He moved a little closer, towering over her. âTell me, whose child is this?â
