Chapter 1204
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1204:
? ? ? ? ?
There was a "smash" sound, marking the sound of the flowerpot shattering.
Roscoe, rushing toward them, collapsed to the ground.
Nicole's vision blurred and she couldn't make anything out clearly. "No!" She screamed in anguish and pushed Jarrod away forcefully. She then lunged for the balcony railing, intending to jump.
Jarrod's eyes narrowed and he grabbed her sleeve tightly. He didn't think she was going to do it. She was really willing to die for Roscoe. How could she
How dare I?
At that moment, jealousy ignited a fiery rage in Jarrod's eyes. A wave of fear washed over him. Nicole seemed truly out of his league now⦠He pulled her in tightly, hugging her tightly, and shouted, âAre you crazy?!â
A fall from three stories wouldn't be fatal, but for someone as fragile as Nicole, it would either kill her or leave her seriously injured.
She was really ready to jump without hesitation. She was serious about her vow to die with Roscoe.
Nicole, who looked like a lifeless doll, had a vacant look, her eyes devoid of any spark. After all, with Jarrod, to get to such a point, who wouldn't feel despair?
Jarrod was livid. âJust for this man, are you willing to die? Nicole, have you lost your mind?â
He simply wanted her to give up. Why was it so difficult? The flowerpot didn't hit Roscoe's head. It aimed for Roscoe's legs, just as a warning. As for Roscoe's collapse, it simply highlighted how weak he was.
Although Jarrod deeply wanted to kill Roscoe, somewhere inside him, he hesitated. It wasn't the fear of committing murder.
Jarrod was used to dealing with dead bodies from his days abroad, with blood on his hands. I have never flinched in this regard. What he really feared was that Nicole might keep her vows. He was simply gambling on this, and evidently, he had lost, completely.
âJarrod, compared to him, you are nothing.â Nicoleâs voice was hollow, lacking warmth, crispness and clarity.
For Nicole, Roscoe represented a beacon of hope in her new life, a light in her darkness, an oasis in her desert. His compassion and steadfastness had slowly healed her, a person too broken to truly live. Now, with her last hope snatched away, life seemed meaningless.
Nicole's eyes were devoid of any glimmer of light. Darkness enveloped her.
He felt like a lonely boat in the middle of a storm, capsizing and plunging into the abyss. His whole world went completely dark.
In the hospital room, Nicole lay motionless in bed, deep in sleep for three days.
Jarrod kept a close eye on her, making sure the doctors checked on her every hour.
Nicole's condition was hanging precariously in the balance. Doctors predicted she would only live for more than a decade if all went well, but her life could slip away at any moment.
One particularly outspoken doctor, speaking of Nicole's fragility, met Jarrod's fury with a brutal attack.
Accusations of Jarrod's incompetence flew as he stripped the doctor of his medical dignity.
Alec quickly stepped in, negotiating a multi-million dollar deal to quell the storm.
For a normal person, such a sum was a life-changing amount, and the overwhelmed doctor gladly accepted it.
