Chapter 1199

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1199:

? ? ? ? ?

Jarrod was silent for a while. Then he said, “I can’t accept that.”

Vicki was stunned for a moment. She stared at Jarrod with her mouth open before she finally managed to say, “Jarrod, am I that bad? You know I just want to help you. “I would never hurt you.”

Vicki couldn't really understand why Jarrod refused. He wanted nothing more than a title. Why was he so unwilling to give it to her?

“It's not that you're not good enough,” Jarrod said. “I just don't want to complicate our relationship. “If you make a deal with me, you’ll only end up hurting yourself.”

Nicole's escape from him was a hard blow for Jarrod. His mind was in a mess and he could no longer think of anything else. Vicki's words were right. The marriage of convenience could offer him great support. But he still didn't want it.

“Jarrod, do you know that all the shareholders are plotting to us?” Vicki said anxiously. “Once you are kicked out of the company and lose your job, it won't be easy for you to find Nicole again.”

Jarrod remained silent, his embarrassment evident in his stillness.

Vicki knew it was useless to say more, since convincing him seemed impossible. So she threw out her last bait.

«Jarrod, our union means nothing. It only serves to resolve the current crisis and solidify the relationship between the Hamptons and the Schultzes. If one day Nicole reappears, that's fine with me. I can tolerate her. "I hope you can think about it."

After saying this, Vicki walked away, heartbroken.

Jarrod's ruthlessness in dealing with things made him many enemies.

Following the scandal, these enemies turned their attention to the Schultz Group, doing everything in their power to destroy it until it was completely destroyed.

The Schultz Group was Jarrod's brainchild. He couldn't let it fail while he was in charge.

A month later, news from the Hampton-Schultz union spread. The wedding date was announced on the day of their engagement ceremony.

This boosted Jarrod's name and he quickly returned to the Schultz Group. After several months of decisive action, he regained his position in the company and eliminated his rivals.

Vicki thought this would be the beginning of a happy life for her with Jarrod.

But while he was celebrating, Nicole re-entered the scene.

Jarrod pressed Vicki back into the seat, then pulled his hand away.

"I will keep my promise to marry you. But that's all I can do. I can only give what we agreed to from the beginning."

Time was running out and he was desperate to find Nicole, so he didn't elaborate further, hoping Vicki would see reason.

“But Jarrod…” Unreconciled, Vicki clutched the hem of her coat.

However, Jarrod shook his hand mercilessly. “Whether you decide to continue or end our agreement, I respect your decision.”

Vicki froze. She could only watch him walk away helplessly, unable to do anything. The pain in her eyes turned to resentment, for she had forgotten the agreement before their engagement despite Jarrod's reminders.

She clenched her fists tightly and muttered as she stared at Jarrod’s back fiercely, “Jarrod, how can you treat me like this? “I love you so much.”

Vicki cried even harder, but that didn't change anything. No matter how much she cried, she couldn't bring back the man who had left.
