Chapter 1194

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1194:

? ? ? ? ?

Vicki had been sticking to Jarrod like glue these past few days. Lowe's words had planted a seed of doubt in his mind long ago.

When Vicki had a minor outburst recently, Jarrod didn't bother to comfort her, simply claiming that he was busy.

This left Vicki uneasy, constantly mulling over Lowe's insinuation about Jarrod's reluctance to start a family with her. It was absurd.

If not with her, who else would Jarrod consider having a child with? In just three months, she would become his wife.

Determined to keep an eye on Jarrod and start a family soon, she was determined not to give any other woman a chance.

At that moment, Vicki was sitting in Jarrod's office, waiting for him to get off work to have dinner.

However, as daylight grew, she grew more restless with each passing minute of her absence. Unable to remain idle any longer, she sought out Jarrod's assistant, Alec.

Alec, who seemed hesitant, reluctantly revealed that Jarrod had an urgent meeting with a partner.

“What?” Vicki bristled. To her, the partner's importance paled in comparison to her own. “How long will it take?” she asked.

Alec hesitated before answering, “Mr. “Schultz asked me to take her home first.”

Vicki frowned. “Take me home? “I can wait a little longer.”

"I'm afraid that won't do. He's got an important client to meet," Alec said, a hint of concern in his voice.

Vicki gave Alec a suspicious look and took a few steps forward, swinging open the door to the VIP room.

“Oh, Miss Hampton…” Alec’s attempt to intervene was futile.

Vicki looked around the empty conference room and turned sharply to Alec. “Where’s Mr. Schultz?” She and Jarrod had just finished finalizing dinner plans. How could Jarrod just vanish into thin air like that?

Alec cleared his throat and offered an explanation: “Mr. Schultz had to leave on an urgent business trip abroad. He had no choice but to ask me to convey his apologies and assure you that he would make it up to you tonight.”

Vicki felt with frustration. Even if it was urgent, she would have just given them a heads-up. She had traveled to the Schultz Group so they would forget about her. What could be so urgent that she had to run off like that?

Furious, she picked up the phone and dialed Jarrod's number, but it was met with a mechanical female voice. "I'm sorry, the number you have dialed is disconnected..."

Vicki's concern increased when she noticed that Jarrod's phone was unanswered. Where the hell had he gone? She locked eyes with Alec, her words sharp and direct, cutting through the tension. "Alec, stop pretending. Just tell me straight up, where is Jarrod?"

Alec, predictably tense, replied: “Look, I’m not lying to you. Mr. Schultz really did go on a business trip. There’s a big deal brewing on the international market and he had to fend for himself.”

Alec's explanation range hollow, however. However, he couldn't come up with a convincing story since Jarrod had simply vanished into thin air, leaving even him clueless about Jarrod's whereabouts.

With Jarrod's phone offline, Alec resorted to quickly making up excuses as he struggled to uncover the truth.

In an attempt to address Vicki's growing concern, Alec gestured to the secretary, who arrived with a bag from a luxury jewelry brand. In a persuasive tone, he presented it to Vicki.

"Here's something Mr. Schultz had me order for you a little while ago. He intended to deliver it himself, but on his abrupt departure he asked me to pass it on to you. He promised more surprises on his return."

Vicki glanced into the box and saw the latest limited edition “Love of the Century” necklace from the prestigious jewelry brand. It wasn't something that just anyone with deep pockets could get their hands on.
