Chapter 1187

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1187:

? ? ? ? ?

It was the first gift I had given Roscoe, and I was looking forward to him trying it on soon.

It was still daylight when Roscoe returned. He had traveled to the village to look for a rare herb that would be beneficial to Nicole's health.

He had made a deal with the village pharmacy to buy whatever herbs they had, even braving bad weather to get them. That was exactly what he got today.

As he walked in, Roscoe saw that Nicole had moved from outside to the side of the fire, still working on the scarf.

She had put on a little weight, and although she was still thin, she no longer looked so emaciated.

The firelight illuminated her face, giving her a lively and beautiful appearance.

The sight of her knitting was deeply comforting.

Roscoe walked over, gently took the thread from Nicole's hands, and handed her a plum blossom cake. Then he joked, "You're supposed to practice a little bit every day. Did you try too hard today?"

“I’m not that picky, and knitting isn’t tiring,” Nicole replied with a chuckle. She took a bite of the plum blossom cake, the taste and sweetness of which were characteristic of this city and delightfully unique.

“Remember, don't push yourself too hard. You can only knit forty minutes a day,” Roscoe said quietly.

“Forty minutes is not enough. My hands are still adjusting. I can’t finish well in such a short time,” Nicole replied.

"It doesn't matter if it's not perfect. There's no rush. Even if you finish it by summer, I'll wear it," Roscoe assured her.

Nicole giggled. “Wouldn’t you get a rash from wearing it in the summer?”

"It would be a happy rash," Roscoe joked, and got up to prepare dinner.

Watching him walk away, Nicole put down the plum blossom cake and picked up her scarf again, knitting with renewed vigor.

For some reason, I felt the compelling need to finish it more quickly.

She felt a haunting fear, fearing that Roscoe would never be able to put on this scarf.

At Vicki's father's birthday, Jarrod and Vicki attended together.

When the Jarrod scandal came to light, Vicki's father, Wayne, was adamant that Vicki and Jarrod ended their relationship.

In high society, a little flirting and some quirky habits were nothing unusual. Many men saw their mistresses simply as a means of stress relief. But they didn't treat their wives that way.

Wayne had been wilder than Jarrod in his youth, to tell the truth, but Vicki was his dearest daughter, born to the woman he loved dearly. Therefore, he had always spoiled Vicki.

When the Jarrod scandal broke, Wayne immediately ordered an investigation.

The results left him stunned. The woman involved with Jarrod was Nicole, the heiress of the Lawrence family, who has since disappeared.

By then, the dramatic downfall of the Lawrence family had been a major topic of conversation in society.

Although everyone feared Jarrod's ruthless nature, Wayne admired his uncompromising attitude. He saw a lot of his younger self in Jarrod, a man with guts.

But with the fall of the Lawrence family, it wasn't fair to simply say that Jarrod held a grudge against them for keeping Nicole by his side and torturing her.
