Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1184:
? ? ? ? ?
Vicki staggered over to Jarrod and threw herself into his arms, wrapping her arms around her slim waist. She murmured, âJarrod, you haven't even called me. Arenât you worried that I might find someone else while Iâm having fun?â
Jarrod raised an eyebrow and challenged, âWould you?â
Blushing, Vicki flirtatiously replied, âYou know who I am, right?â
Jarrod reassured her with a smile: âI have faith in Mrs. Schultz.â
Their wedding date was set for three months from now.
The mention of âMrs. Schultzâ made Vickiâs legs go weak. She clung to him tightly, fitting comfortably against him. âJarrod, you really areâ¦â
Jarrod gave a slight smile. âYou don't like it? Should I stop calling you that?â
"No!" Vicki playfully hit him and said, âOf course I love it, you rascal.â
âGet in the car.â Jarrod politely opened the car door for Vicki.
The Hampton family paved the way for Jarrod to regain control of the Schultz Group.
At first, Vicki's father had insisted on breaking ties with the Schultz Group and Jarrod, but Vicki wouldn't hear of it. She cried, made scenes, and even threatened to take her own life.
Jarrod had never made such extreme demands, but Vicki went so far as to slit her wrists to force her father to save Jarrod. She was hopelessly in love with Jarrod.
However, Jarrod's position at the Schultz Group remained precarious, with many shareholders turning against him. So Jarrod plans to use his upcoming marriage as a strategy to control some dissident shareholders.
At Ardlens, many socialites aspired to marry Jarrod, but Vicki was the most manageable and naive.
After getting into the car, Vicki shamelessly wrapped herself around Jarrod like an octopus, snuggling deeply into his embrace, all in full view of the driver. âJarrod, I miss you so much.â
Jarrod laughed. âWe just saw each other at noon.â
âI miss you every minute weâre apart, uncontrollably.â Vicki seemed to have had too much to drink, as she was exceptionally talkative tonight, every word saturated with affection.
Jarrod sat back in his seat, silent, not making it clear whether he was actually listening.
The ride was too comfortable. Pleading fatigue, Vicki fell asleep.
Feeling her steady breathing against him, Jarrod pushed her away emotionlessly, his face turning into a mask of cold detachment.
It was such a stark contrast to his attitude a moment ago.
Even in her sleep, Vicki continued to murmur, "Jarrod, I love you."
They soon arrived at their destination.
Alec parked the car without any problems, and Jarrod pulled the still sleeping Vicki out of the car.
