Chapter 1178
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1178:
? ? ? ? ?
Nicole and Roscoe only regretted missing Raegan's wedding, even though she did send them a live stream of the event.
Nicole had been cautious, waiting two months in the village before approaching Raegan, aware that Mitchel and Jarrod were acquaintances. She trusted Raegan's discretion, which allowed her to trust Mitchel.
However, knowing Jarrod's cunning nature, Nicole feared that Mitchel might inadvertently reveal something in Jarrod's presence, so she advised Raegan to keep their situation confidential, even in front of Mitchel.
At Raegan's wedding, which Jarrod couldn't attend due to his scandal, the ceremony was grand, and both Raegan and Mitchel looked incredible.
Raegan shared generously, and Nicole was touched by Mitchel's sincerity, thrilled that Raegan had found happiness.
However, out of an abundance of caution, Raegan and Nicole decided to limit their communication, opting to see each other only once a year to ensure each other's safety and well-being.
The fluttering of fish in the basin brought Nicole back to the present. She noticed Roscoe cleaning jujubes and stood up, offering, âLet me take care of the fish.â
âDon't move. Donât bother,â Roscoe insisted. âIâll take care of it.â
The mountain jujubes were free of pesticides. After a quick wash with warm water, he handed them over, warning: âDon't eat too many.â
They cool down.
Then he took the fish well to wash it.
The sunlight was perfect, casting a radiant glow over Roscoe's profile.
An old scar, a reminder of a long-ago wound and of late medical attention, marred his face. Still, it did not detract from its attractiveness. He had a calm demeanor and a gentle disposition, and the scar added a rugged charm to his appearance.
Nicole nibbled on a jujube, savoring its freshness and sweetness.
She thought about how actions carry consequences. It wasn't her who saved Roscoe. He was just a passing flower that caught her eye during her prime. To her, he was her true savior. Without him, she wouldn't have survived in this world.
Their days passed in silence. One day, after seeing the health of the villagers, Roscoe called Nicole.
Before leaving, I carefully wrapped her in a scarf, a hat and some gloves. Then, leading her outside, he pointed and said, âLook.â
What lay before them was a white blanket, the trees glistening with icy crystals, a scene of pure enchantment.
"This is the first time it's snowed since we've been here," Roscoe announced.
"Do you want to make a wish?"
It was said that wishes made with the first snowfall came true.
Nicole smiled, nodded, and closed her eyes to make her wish.
Since her arrival, Nicole had smiled more often than in all their previous years combined. She found happiness in the little things, like Wednesday video chats with Austin, Roscoe's return with groceries, and Keith's playful antics. All of these things made her truly appreciate the beauty of life. This was something she had never imagined in her previous life.
Nicole bowed her head reverently and softly wished, âI hope that all the days to come will be like today, simple but joyful.â
