But even if he had, what could he have done? Could he really have prevented Mitchel from undergoing the operation and denied him the chance to get better?
Fortunately, the results were positive. Now that the operation had been a success, there was no point in dwelling on it any further.
Mitchel knew she was worried and afraid of the possible complication, but he didn't regret having the operation. He wanted to offer her the best, including the best version of himself, because she deserved nothing less.
Mitchel's recovery was rapid and the operation was a resounding success.
Although he was not prepared for strenuous activities, he could walk normally and stand for hours without problems.
The day of their wedding soon arrived.
Raegan put on the beautiful wedding dress she had designed during her college days. It was a dream that had finally come true. Today she was putting on her own creation and marrying the man she loved.
She waited in the dressing room, ready to make her entrance at the right moment.
At that moment, the door creaked open.
Hearing light footsteps, Raegan called out, thinking it was Judd, her assistant, "Is it time?"
The figure did not respond, but continued to advance towards her.
Alerted, Raegan turned around to find an unexpected guest.
The man was dressed in a white tuxedo, looking as handsome as he was refined. He was dressed as if he were the groom.
âHenley?â Raegan said his name cautiously. âHow did you get in here?â
After being arrested, Alexis had confessed everything in an attempt to keep Henley out of trouble. But was it possible for the misdeeds to go unnoticed?
Henley's manipulative strategies to gain access to the board of directors had been exposed, the police had discovered irrefutable evidence and were now hot on their trail.
Raegan had assumed he had run away abroad and was surprised to find him at her wedding.
With a cold smile, Henley said, âIt's your wedding. âI may not be the groom, but I had to be here.â
"Mr. Brooks, I don't think our past merits an invitation to each other's wedding," Raegan replied.
Smiling, Henley replied, âYou are very cruel, Raegan. âI am not here to cause trouble.â
Despite her seemingly innocuous look, Raegan remained on high alert.
Her past full of deceit and lies was not something she could easily forget.
âAm I cruel?â With a wry smile, Raegan replied, âI thought it was clear that we are nothing more than strangers after our last meeting at the International Banquet Center.â
Raegan made clear the status of her relationship.
