Chapter 1161

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1161:

? ? ? ? ?

“Raegan, just yesterday I was still struggling to prove to you that what you had to offer me wasn't pity, but genuine love. But after last night, after bursting through that door and seeing you there, so vulnerable, I've been terrified. Even now, with you here, I'm still scared…” Mitchel paused, struggling to steady his voice.

«I'm afraid of what could have happened if I hadn't found you, or if I had arrived too late… I need to tell you that I want to be with you, even if your feelings towards me are pity. Stay with me. "I will do everything in my power to protect you and our children."

Mitchel realized that his confession contradicted what he had said the other day. That day, he wondered if his statement was just out of compassion and made it clear that he could not accept such a feeling.

Yet here he was, begging her to consider them together, even if it was out of pity.

His overwhelming affection made it possible for him to give up everything else, including his deeply cherished pride. He has exposed his deepest vulnerabilities, giving in completely to Raegan.

“Raegan, this may sound selfish, but I’m asking you to start over with me.” Mitchel’s voice wavered slightly.

Silence filled the air.

Raegan could feel the slight trembling in his body. She sensed his fear. What was he afraid of? Was it because her love for him hadn't been expressed clearly enough, making such a self-assured man doubt himself?

Raegan's arms went around Mitchel's waist, feeling his pronounced shoulder blades across his thin body, a body scarred by his previous efforts to protect her. Just thinking about it made her heart ache.

Mitchel, not receiving an immediate response, gradually loosened his hold.

She took a deep breath, exhaling slowly, trying to keep her voice steady. “Raegan, don't feel obligated. If you reject me, it's okay. It's your right, a sign of your autonomy, your freedom to make your own decisions, free from anyone's influence. I’ll manage.”

God knew how much agony it was for Mitchel to say these words. If he couldn't even get compassion out of him, he knew he would lose all his courage, the courage to face life…

As Mitchel was slowly letting go, Raegan, who had been silent, suddenly raised her head and hugged him tightly. A passionate kiss landed on his lips. Her kiss moved down to the unmistakable Adam's apple on his throat.

Mitchel tensed, a wave of unease running through him as he roughly grabbed her hand as she unbuttoned his shirt, his voice harsh, as if burned. “Raegan, you.”

Raegan looked at him, her eyes filling with tears.

“Mitchel, I am even more selfish than you. From the beginning of our relationship, I have wanted you for myself alone. I sent your previous relationships and resented the attention you paid to other women. Back then, you were my whole world, but I wasn't the only one at your side. “I felt helpless and envious, and divorcing you was the way to cope with the broken fragments of my self-respect.”

Mitchel wanted to explain something, but Raegan silenced him by putting a finger on his lips.

Raegan shook her head and said, “Hiding my feelings and pushing you away time and time again was just my way of protecting myself. “I’m not sure if coming clean about our feelings earlier could have saved us any heartache, but it’s not too late now.”

With sincerity in every word, Raegan confessed, “I want to be with you for the rest of our lives. This has nothing to do with pity. I love you. “I love you simply because you are the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

Mitchel pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her tightly as if trying to merge her being into himself. A hug like that was the only way to be sure she was real and not a figment of her imagination.

Overwhelmed, Mitchel trembled and said solemnly, “Raegan, I wish there was a way for you to see my heart. It’s completely filled with you, and you’re here to stay forever.”

I have kissed her again. This kiss was soft, deep, full of unspoken passion.

Their lips and tongues met, sharing warm and tender exchanges, and their breaths mixed with soft moans.

Mitchel's movements were limited, so when they lay down on the bed, they lay on their sides, hugging each other and still kissing.

But when he began to unbutton her hospital gown, Raegan suddenly stopped him.
