Chapter 1129
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1129:

The ambulance arrived at the hospital, where Aurora's medical services, well equipped for frostbite, quickly got to work.
Using specialized equipment, they quickly warmed Raegan's body, although stabilizing her temperature was only the first step. Recovery from frostbite was slow, and they had to remain vigilant for any signs of fever or other complications.
Erick rushed to the hospital shortly after. Despite understanding that it was an accident, frustration and worry clouded his expression.
The thought of her sister suffering caused her deep anxiety. How would she explain such a situation to her parents?
Erick thought back to the day Raegan was born. His mother had gently linked her tiny hand with Raegan's, asking, âErick, can you help me take care of your sister?â
Looking at Raegan, who was then a tiny, cuddly baby, Erick's heart had swelled with brotherly love. He had vigorously, vowing out loud, "I will protect my sister for the rest of my life."
It was a promise that Erick had always strived to keep.
Throughout the years of Raegan's absence, there was not a single day when Erick was not consumed by worry, and unable to truly find happiness. Only upon meeting Raegan did he allow himself a genuine smile, his first since her disappearance.
Then Erick looked seriously at Mitchel, his tone filled with a mixture of disappointment and determination. âMitchel, I think you are not capable of protecting her.â
âI'm sorry,â Mitchel sincerely apologized. He knew he had made a mistake.
Had it not been for his carelessness, Raegan would never have suffered such an order. His self-loathing was so deep that he hoped Erick would hit him so he could feel some relief from his guilt.
At that moment, Matteo fell to his knees with a loud thud. I confessed to Erick: âIt's my fault, sir. âIt was I who invited Miss Foster to come and see Mr. Dixon.â
Guilt consumed Matteo. His actions had inadvertently caused Raegan to be locked in Mitchel's office. He was the one who extended the invitation, but he failed to ensure that she left safely. It was a clear dereliction of his responsibilities.
Matteo thought that even if Mitchel exiled him to Tanzania for a decade, he would accept it.
Erick found out the whole story after the investigation.
Raegan had initially contacted Matteo, who then suggested she meet with Mitchel.
Erick was convinced that Raegan would have sought out Mitchel even without Matteo's suggestion. It wasn't Matteo who influenced her decision. She simply needed an excuse, and Matteo had unwittingly provided it.
Erick was a fair man. He placed blame squarely on the guilty without diverting his anger. He helped Matteo to his feet and firmly declared, âGet up. It's not your fault. âRaegan decided to visit us on her own.â
Mitchel's face lost color when I heard that.
Erick looked at Mitchel and said, âRaegan isn't one to be easily swayed by others. âIf she sought you out, it was because she couldnât let herself go.â
Erick paused and, with a hint of disbelief, added, "Mitchel, I refuse to believe that you really don't understand her."
âIf that's soâ¦â Erick was direct. âYou should keep your distance from her for now. Take some time to reflect until your thoughts are clear.â
Honestly, Erick felt disappointed by Mitchel's actions. He had believed that Mitchel was capable of protecting Raegan, but this serious mistake had occurred.
As Erick turned to walk away, Mitchel grabbed him roughly by the arm and said in a shaking voice, "Erick, I don't want to..."
