Chapter 1124

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1124:

? ? ? ? ?

Mitchel's face darkened visibly. Then Raegan was gone. Although Raegan's kindness knew no bounds, he resolved to exploit it for his gratification.

It was often preferable to endure quick pain than prolonged torment. Fleeting company, quickly followed by departure, would be much more agonizing.

If she forced him, she would only make them both suffer. Her suffering would remain her only burden.

Raegan woke up in Mitchel's office, her body shaking from the chill in the air.

At night, Aurora seemed like an ice cellar because of its coldness.

Without underfloor heating, even the youngest and most robust individual would be at risk of freezing to death!

As soon as he got up, he found himself unable to suppress his incessant sneezes. His skin was covered in goosebumps and his hair was standing on end from the cold.

The surroundings were shrouded in absolute darkness.

Raegan wrapped the blanket around herself, her hands frantically searching for the light switch. When she finally located it, she flicked it repeatedly, but the lights stubbornly refused to turn on.

He remembered that Erick had told him that Aurora had begun to implement energy-saving measures.

In places like the conference center, where no one was around outside of office hours, security would routinely turn off the power, shutting down all equipment.

Raegan rushed back to her desk, trying to locate her phone.

However, in the enveloping darkness, their efforts to find him proved futile after a long search.

However, there was a phone on the desk.

Raegan picked it up, but couldn't make a connection.

After the blackout, the network was still offline, so he was unable to connect.

Raegan put down her phone with a heavy heart, realizing that her cell phone was her last lifeline.

He continued searching the floor, despite the scant warmth offered by the thin carpet. The carpet was freezing cold and sent shivers down his spine.

Finally, her fingers brushed against something solid, and to her relief, it was her phone.

His excitement turned to disappointment when he picked it up and discovered that the battery was dead.

As the temperature continued to plummet, the wall thermometer ominously displayed an indoor temperature of -0.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

Suddenly, desperation gripped Raegan.

The chilly air of darkness transformed into a menacing presence, as if stalking Raegan, ready to pounce at any moment.

Wrapped in the only blanket she had, Raegan shivered, unable to gather her thoughts. Mitchel was her only beacon of hope. She hoped that if he noticed she was missing, he would think to look in her office.
