Chapter 1122
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1122:
? ? ? ? ?
She wrapped him in a tight hug, summoning strength she didn't know she possessed.
At that moment, she realized something very profound. Her love for him was deeper than she had ever imagined. All her attempts to distance herself from him crumbled effortlessly. The mere thought of him enduring the scrutiny of others in solitude was heartbreaking.
She buried her face in his chest, tears streaming down her cheeks as she longed to express her feelings to him. She wanted to tell him that her love for him hardened.
âMitchelâ¦â I choked.
At that moment, the door was pushed open with a gentle push.
Raegan hadn't closed the door properly when she came in, so it gave in easily to a light knock.
It was the secretary of the conference room, who addressed Mitchel: âThe meeting is about to beginâ¦â
The scene before the secretary left her speechless. Was this really the cold-faced, distant man she knew? The look he directed at the woman he embraced was undeniably affectionate. It seemed that beneath his stoic exterior, he harbored depths of warmth and affection.
The secretary stood at the door, undecided whether to enter or slip away silently.
Raegan didn't dare look up, her discomfort now palpable. With a shiver, she belatedly realized how awkward the situation was.
Mitchel's brow furrowed slightly as his gaze fell on the figure by the door, the warmth fading from his eyes. âIâll be there on time.â
The secretary left quickly, making sure the door closed behind her.
Raegan tried to pull away from Mitchel, but he held her waist firmly.
With nerves palpable in her voice, Raegan ventured, âShouldn't you be attending the meeting?â
Mitchel replied: âI have a free moment.â
Traces of tears remained in Raegan's eyes, her cheeks flushed.
Started by the abrupt interruption, her words came out haltingly.
âYou should attend the meeting first. âWe can talk about this later.â
However, Mitchel refused to let go, still holding her by the waist. âRaegan, do you pity me?â
Raegan froze, her soul rendered silent as if by a sudden blow.
Was it compassion that stirred within him? Could it really be so?
In the heavy silence that followed, Mitchel's dark eyes slowly dimmed.
âI don't need your pity,â Mitchell said. He refused to chain her to his side with his pity. Matters of the heart demanded more than passing emotions or compassionate gestures. If his feelings were merely compassionate, he would rather endure a lifetime of suffering than confine her to such a fate.
Mitchel gently held Raegan on her feet before firmly ordering, âPlease come back.â
