Chapter 1119

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1119:

? ? ? ? ?

They needed to keep their plans hidden from Davey, at least until they found his mother.

This step was crucial and required Raegan's presence to ensure everything looked normal.

After outlining the general plan, Erick noticed Raegan's drooping eyelids and lackluster energy. “Didn’t you sleep well last night?” I have asked.

Raegan agreed. “A little insomnia.”

Erick, assuming she was anxious about the operation, tried to reassure her. “Don't worry too much. “I’ll make sure you’re safe.”

“I’m not worried,” Raegan replied.

“But Erick… Do you know about Mitchel’s leg injury?” I hesitated before asking, “Is it serious?”

Erick paused and then replied, “I’m not quite clear on the details. It’s better if you ask him directly.”

After all, Mitchel had instructed Erick to keep things confidential. If Mitchel preferred not to share that information with Raegan, it wouldn't be right for Erick to reveal it.

Furthermore, Erick feared that if Raegan knew the whole truth, she might blame herself for Mitchel's worsening condition, which would drive her back into sadness.

If Raegan asked Mitchel directly and he decided to tell her the whole story, things would change completely.

Erick trusted that Mitchel would do whatever it took to comfort Raegan.

Raegan gently bit her lip and confessed, “Erick, I’m always afraid… I’m afraid that my presence will bring him misfortune.”

Erick watched her. Although he was not adept at emotions, he recognized that Raegan's tangled worries stemmed from her inability to let go of Mitchel. These two…

Erick shook his head inwardly and spoke slowly. “Raegan, sometimes you have to understand that the opposite of misfortune can actually be fortune. Everyone makes different choices. If it were up to you, would you rather live devoid of feelings, or cherish every precious moment with someone you love? So don't limit yourself to one-sided views. If it weighs on your heart, you must resolve this matter until you can completely let it go.”

Erick's advice to clear Raegan's mind. She realized that she had been swayed by Katie's misleading words, thinking that she was the cause of Mitchel's problems. However, even in her absence, the condition of Mitchel's leg had deteriorated. So whose fault was it?

Raegan was a woman of action. If she wasn't sure about something, she looked into it herself. Worried about Mitchel's leg, she decided to check things out for herself. She called Matteo and asked, “Matteo, is Mitchel still in the hospital?”

"No, Mr. Dixon is at the Aurora Conference Center, holding discussions on the project."

Raegan jumped. “He's back to work? How’s his leg?”

Matteo looked at Mitchel, who was completely absorbed in his work, and felt a pang of bitterness. “Miss Foster, Mr. Dixon doesn't want to listen to me. “I have skipped breakfast and lunch.”

Torn between his obligations and his concern, Matteo reluctantly added, “If you get a chance, I hope you can convince him to take better care of himself.” After ending the call, Raegan looked at the chat log on her phone.

The conversation with Mitchel had not changed since the night before.

His simple “thank you” was still there. She hadn't responded, and he hadn't added anything else. Interacting through the distant medium of the phone made everything seem more distant and cold.

Raegan put on her coat, got into her car and drove off, determined to visit Mitchel.
