With her sharp eyes, Raegan immediately spotted a bruise on his face.

"Stefan, what happened to your face?"

Stefan looked uneasy and replied: “I fell. “It was an accident.”

Raegan was skeptical, remembering how aggressive Mitchel had acted towards Stefan earlier. She voiced her speculations: “Was it because of a fight?”

Raegan guessed that Mitchel had probably blamed Stefan's indulgence in giving her ice cream and seafood for her premature labor, since he was very protective of his babies.

Stefan insisted, “No. It really was an accident. You don't believe me? Ask Erick.”

Raegan turned to Erick and asked, “Erick?”

"Yes, he fell. I can confirm that," Erick said.

Hearing her brother confirm this, Raegan felt reassured. She felt weak and couldn't think about it too much.

Shortly after, Victor and Judd brought the twins.

Raegan looked at the tiny, charming Juan and Westin. They bore a striking resemblance to Mitchel, showing off his handsome features.

Raegan felt slightly disheartened. They looked too much like him!

Wasn't there a saying that sons tended to resemble their mothers? She couldn't make out any trace of herself in them. They looked like little replicas of their father.

“How can they look so much like him?” Raegan whispered softly.

Erick heard her, but preferred to ignore it.

After the children were taken away, Raegan tied a healthy meal, and then the doctor told her to rest.

Erick stayed, without separating from her.

Raegan asked, “Erick, what’s wrong with him?”

She didn't need to specify who she was referring to, as Erick undoubtedly knew she was referring to Mitchel.

Mitchel had professed such deep concern for his children, so why hadn't he visited the babies since birth?

Was it possible that their exchange in the park had hurt him? Raegan refused to believe that Mitchel could become so sensitive. Furthermore, the confrontation in the park had been his fault.

Erick paused and decided to lie. “He's probably busy working on the project these days.”

Raegan frowned. Even with her busy schedule, she couldn't find time to visit her children?

"Don't hold it against him. He's probably very busy right now." Erick tried to speak on Mitchel's behalf.

Raegan looked at Erick skeptically. “Erick, what did he bribe you with?” Why was Erick now making excuses for Mitchel?
