Chapter 1089

Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook

Chapter 1089:

? ? ? ? ?

As they got out of the car, Stefan advised her, “Try not to overthink things.”

Back in her room, Raegan reflected on Stefan's words and Mitchel's behaviors. Mitchel had always been so proud. After she had firmly rejected him, why did he still care about her? No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.

As darkness enveloped the night, Raegan felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.

I didn't think the pain would start so soon, two weeks before giving birth. Maybe it was what I had done during the day, the ice cream or something else…

But at the moment she couldn't think of the cause. The pain in her stomach came in waves, pushing her into action.

He reached for his phone on the nightstand, but it slipped and fell to the floor.

Unable to locate it, Raegan slowly maneuvered her way to the floor, but couldn't see the phone under the bed.

It was not practical for him to lie down and search under the bed, so after groping around without success, he looked up and realized that he was just a few steps from the front door. I have tried to call out, “Is there anybody there? Is there anybody?”

However, the intense contractions made it difficult for her to project her voice. It was unlikely that her neighbor, Victor, who was probably asleep at that hour, would hear her weak cries.

For safety, Raegan crawled across the carpet. Afraid to stand up and fall, she remained crouched.

When he reached the door, he faced another challenge. He couldn't stand up. He knocked on the door.

She continued to call out, unsure if anyone could hear her. Slowly, the pain sapped her energy. Raising her hand to strike one last blow, she let it fall weakly and closed her eyes.

In the dead of night, the heavy oak door of the Clifford family mansion was knocked loudly.

After receiving a nod of approval from Erick, the servant cautiously opened the door.

Outside, the rain fell incessantly, accompanied by harsh, cold winds.

A figure wrapped in a black and gray wool coat limped into the hall, leaning heavily on a black crutch, raindrops clinging to his body.

Erick, his step hampered by an old wound, looked at the newcomer with a frown. "What brings you here at this hour, Mitchel?"

“Is Raegan still awake?” Mitchel's voice was tense, betraying an underlying urgency.

Puzzled, Erick shook his head. “It's already past bedtime. “He’s probably retired for the night.”

Mitchel narrowed his eyes. “Alone?”

Erick hesitated, momentarily shocked at the realization of the situation. “Of course not,” he said, quickly recovering.

Even Hector didn't know about Raegan's fake marriage. Naturally, the fewer people who knew about it, the better. Keeping the circle closed was crucial to avoid any potential consequences, for the sake of Raegan's safety.

Mitchel's face darkened. "Would you mind going to see her?"

Erick frowned in disbelief. “At this hour? She's fast asleep. What could be happening?”
