Chapter 1076
Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook
Chapter 1076:
? ? ? ? ?
Hector frowned, worried. âHas anyone seen or heard from Caseyâ¦?â
Hector coughed, trying to cover up his mistake. âI mean, has anyone seen or heard from Mrs. Foster lately?â
Erick shook his head. âNo, no one has seen her or heard from her.â
Their investigation so far had been largely speculative, relying heavily on a single lead, Jimena's drug purchase. They had yet to find anyone who had set their sights on Casey.
This meant that they had not yet received any definitive proof whether Casey was alive or not, so her status was unknown.
As a result, the investigation had once again reached a dead end, with no new leads or breakthroughs in sight.
Davey's mansion was a peculiar and potentially dangerous place, and just because Hector's initial investigation went unnoticed didn't mean he could come and go from Davey's house as he was pleased without consequences.
Just then Hector's phone range. It was Mitchel, calling from Ardlens.
He put the phone on speaker and said, âHello.â
Mitchel, aware of Hector's ongoing investigation into Casey's disappearance, shared a crucial piece of information that could help solve the case. "I have something important to share with you. Davey's house has a huge secret underground basement."
Raegan's thoughts were suddenly started by the sound of Mitchel's voice, leaving her momentarily stunned and disoriented. So he had been secretly investigating this case all along, without anyone knowing?
Hector revealed that the drunken homeless man who had snooped around Davey's house earlier was actually part of a plan orchestrated by Mitchel himself.
Undeterred by the initial failure, Mitchel persisted and organized another sting operation, sneaking the drunken vagrant into Davey's house for a second attempt, and discovered the shocking fact that the underground cellar was being systematically filled with dirt.
The reason for Davey's clandestine efforts to fill in the basement was clear enough. He must have had something to hide, and with the foreigner's basement already demolished, Aurora's were his last secret hideaways.
But the exact location of the basement that contained Davey Casey remained a mystery.
Just when all hope seemed lost, Raegan's receiver began to flicker.
She gave a cry of excitement and all heads turned towards her.
She was seen holding a tiny device the size of a button. It glowed with an urgent light.
Overcome with emotion, Raegan's voice shook as she exclaimed, "It's Mom!"
Raegan had carefully sewn a button-sized tracker into the swallow design on the gifts distributed earlier. Each of the swallow drawings contained one.
To ensure it wouldn't be accidentally activated, she employed a complex cross-stitch method that only Casey, with her specialized embroidery skills, could undo.
Despite the bullet wound in his shoulder, Erick grabbed the notebook and, in five seconds, deciphered the satellite tracking of the locator.
It indicated the location of one of Davey's mansions.
This meant that Davey had probably hidden Casey in his underground basement.
