However, the fact that she actively sought rehabilitation was a relief for Raegan. She would have been tormented for life if the condition of her leg had not improved.
After changing into her outfit, Casey turned around as Davey entered her room, dressed in a dark red velvet suit that accentuated his refined décor.
Unlike her usual cold and melancholic expression, a soft smile graced her face, hinting at a favorable mood.
Upon arrival, Davey noticed that Casey was adorned in a turtleneck sweater, a fur coat, and a pink diamond necklace adorning her neck.
A smile appeared on his lips as he walked closer, looking at the necklace.
"Why do you leave the blue diamond necklace on?"
Casey replied, âIt doesn't match my outfit today.â
Indeed, her plum coat was out of place with the blue sapphire. The combination would have been awkward.
She turned around excitedly. âAren't I gorgeous today? âI thought Iâd dress up, given our rare outings.â
His words carried a subtle undertone of disappointment.
Davey's smile remained enigmatic as he replied, "You look stunning. I always find your choice of outfit exquisite."
âLetâs go then,â Casey said, unexpectedly linking her arm through Daveyâs. She was undeniably in a good mood.
Davey looked at her hand on his arm with an inscrutable expression.
He seemed neither pleased nor displeased, which hinted at a deeper undercurrent beneath his facade.
Casey, brimming with enthusiasm, didn't notice her subtle change of mood.
As they got into the car, she looked out at the scenery eagerly, savoring the taste of freedom after being cooped up for so long.
The fresh air filled his lungs, rejuvenating his spirit.
After his prolonged confinement, he had distanced himself from the art of communication and had almost forgotten the sensations of the outside world.
Seeing her joy, a tender smile graced Davey's lips.
But as the car drove into more and more remote areas, Casey's anxiety grew. This was not looking like a peaceful excursion. Turning to Davey, he asked, "Where exactly are we headed?"
Davey kept it a mystery: âYouâll know when we get there.â
Casey's unease began to grow. She regretted having trusted Davey's vague plan to get her out of there without a clear reason.
At first, Casey had thought about escaping through a window in a crowded place, but as they went deeper into more and more isolated areas, she didn't see anyone around. If she jumped now, there would be no one to help her and she wouldn't even be able to run away.
Feigning annoyance, Casey asked, âI thought you were taking me out to lunch? Didn't you say it was nearby? I skipped breakfast to join you, so why have we been driving so long?â
